Over 30's Influencers

Hey! Does anyone follow any fashion//beauty influencers who influence the 30/40 year old fashion?

I'm absolutely stuck with being in my late 20's I think. It's time to mature it up a bit.

I've got drinks coming up soon, I was thinking my black knee high boots, black wrap skirt, thick black tights and black jumper. I just feel though that I'm I'm hurtling towards 40 and maybe this isn't appropriate for day drinks!

This used to be my kinda go to autumn day out type outfit.

Like this basically but with black thick tights!

Help me be more appropriate please?

X

You don’t need to be more ‘appropriate’! If you’re gravitating towards this look it obviously suits you. In answer to the op though, my favourite people to follow on Instagram in that age bracket are
Pernille Teisbaek, Veronika Heilbrunner, Jeanette Madsen, Lindsey Holland, smythsisters and Emma Hill.

Yeah it's always been my go to kind of look. Suits me as I'm tall and quite slim. I'm nearly 40 though and I really get anxious and feel like it's too young for me, y'know? Maybe a more mature looking boot would help. Different fabrics.

Thank you so much for those suggestions, I'll get on them just now.

I think that look sounds nice, but agree that the key as you get older is in higher quality fabrics/brands to make the look more stylish.

Influencers that I like for a more sophisticated look (all Instagram) are thefashionablepan, leasy_inparis, rebeccafayehudson, lestylealafrancaise, minimalstreetstyle, styleidealist

ElspethFlashman · 11/10/2021 10:48

It's fine as an outfit.

Though I have to admit that I wouldn't wear it for day drinks. More evening drinks.

Tbh a lot of over 30 influences all look the same. It's all khaki chinos and Breton tops and white trainers. And the occasional navy coatigan.

Now that happens to be my comfort zone, so it suits me (and my size 14-16 body), but it doesn't sound like your scene.

For day drinks I'd probably go with a mini skater dress in a dark floral (I love me a dark floral) as it may look more daytime whilst still showing off the pins.

I can't find any wrap skirts that are a bit longer with a better quality fabric that the suede I've got so I've got this coat in black, will wear it with thick leggings/trousers, thigh boots and some sort of black t shirt/high neck blouse? Feels a bit more comfortable! I'm still on the hunt for a mature version of the skirt outfit though! Thank you. X

I think that’s a lovely coat!
I’d maybe switch the thigh boots for knee high/ankle boots but that’s just personal preference.

Whistles do some nice wrap skirts. This particular one is out of stock but this sort of look might be good for a slightly more casual version of the one of posted in your OP.

There’s nothing wrong with your outfit. You don’t have to change the style as you age.

If you look nice wear it, forget your nearly 40 and ask yourself do I look nice?.

A lot of women I see out and about look a right mess wearing oversized outfits that swamp them just because the fashion industry decided to re-hash the 90’s. Unless your a model it looks very frumpy. Mid-length dresses don’t look great either, I saw a woman who was stylish from the neck up yesterday but wearing a mid-calf dress and trainers made her look like a walking rectangle in a wig.

@TheFormidableMrsC

I've only just found this thread but I love in style by Helen (wouldn't let me type it as her handle!) on Insta. I also love The Meek Boutique. Lynn Meek was previously an influencer but now has her own store. She does all of her own modelling and is very knowledgeable. She also comes across as an absolutely delightful human and that's important. I feel the same about Helen, who is a good down to earth Northern lass.
Sorry wrong thread, have asked for it to be deleted, it was meant for the over 50's thread 🙄
