Being dressed up while ill

Hi
I’m going away for a celebratory weekend next weekend with family. It is at a spa hotel and there will be evening meals/coffees etc but it’s not a function iyswim.
The problem is I’m on the transplant list and as a result of my condition I’ve got a permanently bloated stomach. Which is fine but it’s totally out of proportion as I’m very tall (6ft) and have a slim/medium build.
I normally wear jeans (a size bigger than normal) but only have a few tops that still fit me, even after going up a couple of sizes. Im normally in trackies by dinner time too, but obviously can’t this weekend!
I’d like to have a nice weekend, be quite smartly dressed but I need to feel comfortable too.
I bought a pair of black jersey culottes (elasticated!) and a nice top which could do for one evening.
Any ideas for the other evening?
I don’t look ill, I just have a huge stomach and don’t want to look/feel rubbish when it’s such a nice occasion and has been planned for over a year (rescheduled due to covid).
Thank you 😊

A wrap style dress might work, especially one with some rouching to kind of skin over your tummy.

CornishTiger · 10/10/2021 17:38

What about slouched dresses from Roman with black leggings and nice boots?

OnlyToWin · 10/10/2021 17:38

Skim that should say!

Thanks @OnlyToWin but the wrap dresses done suit me at all (not busty enough!) and my belly button protrudes because of the fluid…sorry should’ve mentioned that.
@CornishTiger thanks so much, they might just fit the bill!

How about an elasticated waist midi pleated skirt with a longer length cami and biker jacket? You can wear it with boots, trainers or flats. I've got this Manamou one in a few colour ways and it's so comfortable.

Also tunic jumpers over leggings, jeans?

Tiered maxi dresses again with trainers or boots.

I also love knitted loungewear, so comfortable but a little bit smarter than sweats. I usually wear mine with a maxi edge to edge cardigan in a matching colour.

Shackets (denim, check, camo, faux leather) are great too over black leggings and long black T-shirt?

You don't need boobage for this and would skim over your stomach.

Popsy trapeze style dress maybe?
And they have pickets!

Bounce55 · 11/10/2021 00:11

Pockets as well!

I would wear the same trousers both nights with two different tops and two different pairs of shoes/boots or you could go for nice leggings with boots and something like this to dress it up ? Have a fab time whatever you decide. www.roman.co.uk/mesh-longline-kimono-19013008

You defo need a trapeze shaped dress and / tunic top.

And 🤞🏼That you get your transplant soon.

I would probably take a wrap/poncho type thing with you so you can wear it as a cover up if you feel like it - with the weather getting colder it's great anyway. I have a cashmere-merino blend one from Woolovers in a charcoal grey colour. Goes with almost any outfit.
