Comfy boots to walk to work every day.

I'm soon to change jobs and will be walking 40 minutes to work each day. I think I need an amazingly comfortable pair of boots, ideally which I can tuck my work trousers (slim leg) into so the hems don't get mucky through winter. I'll then change into work shoes at work.

I think brown would be the most versatile (trousers will be black or navy).

Presumably leather to be waterproof?

Any suggestions?

Are Boots what I need? Open to ideas and trying not just to walk in my hiking boots 🤦‍♀️ loads of people have said just wear trainers but they'll be useless on a damp winter morning.

I do a similar distance in sketcher trainers in summer, and Fly London Mol tall boots in winter. But I don't change in to work shoes, I wear the trainers or boots all day, both super comfy.

The boots are leather and usually good enough as I'm not puddle splashing in them. It's it's properly tipping it down I just wear my wellies and change at work. Wellies are fine for occasionally, but wouldn't want to wear them every day.

I just bought my second pair of these boots, www.clarksoutlet.co.uk/p/49487640, with the first pair lasting for 10 years! They are very comfy, waterproof and I wear them casually at weekends too.

I have Fly London Chelsea boots, v comfortable. Seem to last really well.

I wear fitflop boots or dm boots.

I'm quite short and I think the type of boots I'm after would probably cut my legs off so whilst I'm happy to invest for comfort and want to look reasonable for the commute walk, I doubt I'd stay in them all day. Perhaps - I'll see when I try them on.

I do have a bike, but the busy road and hills are quite off putting. I've said I'll try again in the spring, it might be less scary in the daylight!

I have a similar length walk to work. I wear New Balance gortex waterproof trainers. Maybe not as stylish as boots but they do keep my feet comfy and dry!
