Australians and New Zealanders - where do you shop for clothes?

I need to restock my wardrobe but I’m determined to only buy really decent quality items that will last and still look good a year later. Where do you guys shop for good quality basics like tees and which brands do you recommend/avoid?

I’m looking for a step up from Cotton On, H&M, Zara and the like

Thanks!

I don't mind Dangerfield for some things, Country Road is ok for basics too.

But it's hard here...so much crap quality!

Dangerfield looks far too cool for me Grin

I’ve not lived in Australia for 19 years (although I do go back occasionally!), country road and Witchery were my favourites!

Miseryisabutterfly · 09/10/2021 23:07

Seed too!

FortunesFave · 10/10/2021 02:03

Yes, Seed is lovely actually. Dangerfield isn't really cool though OP! It's quirky....I buy the odd top from there and wear with jeans. I like their prints. The retro, 70s looking flowers.

What sort of clothing do you usually wear? Style I mean.

Trenery is quite nice and also Flo & Frankie have some really nice brands (both NZ, not sure if they are also in Aus).

winetomorrow · 10/10/2021 02:34

Seconded for Flo and Frankie. Also Forever New.

Newmum29 · 10/10/2021 02:38

Gorman

Country rd, seed and Witchery and just jeans. I've also just done an order from shein and it arrived before my just jeans order (7wks vs 3wks). I wasn't expecting super high quality but was pleasantly surprised they aren't awful. Stitching and fabric is ok and they are lightweight for summer and the cut and length suit me.

AirDuser · 10/10/2021 02:42

Forever New and Dangerfield.

Love orange sherbet and they sell Betty basics brand also for tees etc

Love forever new

What kind of things are you after? In addition to ones mentioned, For nice work wear we have Saba. Other workwear - I’ve always thought the quality and materials of my cue things has been decent. For more smart casual / dressy perhaps ginger and smart? Is gorman more your style? It’s not really mine but some things do appeal. (These are aust.)

For work wear/casual Uniqlo, Muji. T-shirts - Target is fine.

Two Threads is my place for more individual clothes. It's not a shop.

Lounge was good, but has moved away from where I live in Melbourne.

nzeire · 10/10/2021 09:46

Kowtow
Moochi
Karen walker (cheaper range)
Kate sylvester (always sale)

Maxiedog123 · 10/10/2021 09:47

Largely online!
Uniqlo for basics like t shirts, tracksuits.
Trenery I find good for workwear, better/more sustainable fabrics than the others in same ownership like witchery and country road

NalPolishRemover · 10/10/2021 10:38

Country Road was my fav when I lived there, and I loved a browse in David Jones
Cotton On for dc - incredible quality jersey stuff - hoodies & t-shirts etc
I miss these shops
