Recommendation for paraben and sulphite free shampoo?

Zooforhouse · 09/10/2021 22:01

Hairdresser today recommended morrocan oil shampoo and conditioner and said it’s because they are free of sulphites and parabens.

My hair feels awful on my usual shampoo so keen to make a change but that’s expensive!

My hair is naturally dry, frizzy and flyaway with a slight wave, highlighted and suffering the effects of recent post partum hair loss!

Will splash out of its worth it, but any other recommendations?

I get mine from Holland and Barrett. Only about a fiver a bottle and usually on offer

I think Penny's did a good fake Moroccan oil range. Vegan shampoo is good - sulphate and paraben free. Try TK Max. Supermarket could have Faith in Nature on offer too.

Thanks, these are a much more acceptable price range! Does going sulphate and paraben free make much difference?

I've used Cantu (quoted above) and you can get it in Superdrug as well.

We like the friendly soap shampoo bars.

Herbal Essence.

Garnier hair food.
DD does curly girl method and having over the years bought lots of much more expensive sulphate free haircare, this is the cheapest and thus far her favourite.

XHC range from B&M or savers, bargain price and it is all free from SLS, silicone, parabens and vegan.

Carboncheque · 10/10/2021 10:38

Herbal essence has SLS so isn’t suitable.

Anyone know if Palmers is free from all the nasty stuff?

My fine hair is a lot thicker and fuller since switching to paraben &SLS free shampoos & conditioners. It took a few months but people started commenting on how nice my hair looked.

I love noughty shampoos

Faith in nature conditioners & shampoos (they usually have a larger range in stock)

I try to avoid As SLS. Sodium Laureat Sulphate. It makes shampoo lather but it's actually an industrial cleaner, so severe for hair. My fine hair is better with vegan shampoos, or curly hair formulas.

@Geamhradh the conditioners are our favourite curly girl product too but the shampoos have sulphate and are quite harsh. Handy to have in though when the hairdresser ignores/doesn't understand and uses a silicone product in their hair as it will remove that.

I use natural shampoo bars. They're made from coconut oil and essential oils. Not quite sure how they clean my greasy hair but they do!

DoingTheBestICan · 17/10/2021 16:17

I use 3 More Inches, it takes a little while for the build up of silicone/parabens to clear from your hair but when it does - oh my - your hair will be wondrous.

Is OGX shampoo any good? I know it they have a Moroccan Argon oil shampoo.
