Has anybody found a whitening toothpaste that works?

I know hydrogen peroxide is the only thing that really works but has anybody found that any toothpaste does makes a difference? I don't want celebrity white gnashers, just a natural white rather than natural yellow!

I think the Oral B whitening mouthwash made a difference for me.

inmyslippers · 09/10/2021 18:20

Tried all sorts. Paid £250 to a dentist to have them professionally done and it was worth every penny.

newtolineofduty · 09/10/2021 18:23

Blanx! Xxx

VinoBianca · 09/10/2021 18:24

I was worried that would be the case @inmyslippers i looked into it and wasn't put off by the cost as much as the time it takes! I just can't carve out the time!

White Glo Tooth whitening for tea and coffee drinkers works well for me, I've never had professional whitening or used strips, but I find it makes them much less yellow. Best thing I've tried

VinoBianca · 09/10/2021 20:01

I did try white glo, it actually made one of my front teeth hurt! I might have overdone it. I've just bought some Spotlight whitening toothpaste which contains peroxide, though can't be much. We'll see!

Pearl drops activ charcoal and listerine whitening mouthwash has made a difference for me.

CoronaPeroni · 09/10/2021 20:04

I've been using Pearl Drops whitening toothpaste for 3 weeks and was convinced it was working but I don't think it's made any difference. Might try other suggestions

melonhead · 09/10/2021 20:04

You can get the crest white strips off Amazon US

Firstaidnovice · 09/10/2021 20:05

As per pp, I find the eucryl powder the best, and probably the cheapest. I'm prone to coffee staining and it scrubs them off really easily, along with general whitening

mantlepiece · 09/10/2021 20:17

Mine were looking awful as I’m a smoker and tea drinker. I rely on regular hygienist appointments! Not able to get a check up at the moment never mind a scale and polish.

Eucryl has cleaned mine up grand.

Whitening is a different matter I think, but for stain removal eucryl has done the job.

Indecisivelurcher · 09/10/2021 20:20

@talkalarm

Eucryl tooth powder
Second this.
Claudia84 · 09/10/2021 21:09

I quite like the new Colgate one you can usually get it half price. But it's only good for stain removing.

Getting the stuff from the dentist really is the way to go. You just stick the trays in overnight or for a couple of hours in the day. You'll see the difference in a couple of weeks and you don't have to do the "white diet either. You can find studies online that says it makes no difference to the effects of the take home tray ones anyway.

ThePotatoCroquette · 09/10/2021 22:02

White Glo did make my teeth sensitive but also was really effective, and I just used it occasionally, with using sensitive toothpaste in between so that helped with the sensitivity. I needs another lot, but am thinking maybe to get the blue light device or something similar.

forgotmyusernamagain · 09/10/2021 22:18

Just being reading the Eucryl powder reviews

Thank you for that recommendation

Fastforwardtospring · 09/10/2021 22:30

I was also coming on to say Eucryl, and also my other fab find is a 9.99 jml-dentapic-sonic-dental-cleaning-system, I had a very deep patchy stain but rubbing with this removed it and it removes tarter build up, have to have patience and just keep working it over affected teeth, am now tarter free without seeing the hygienist.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 09/10/2021 22:32

Spotlight whitening strips are pretty good, I wasn’t convinced by the toothpaste or mouthwash.

SC22 · 09/10/2021 22:44

Toothpastes can remove mild surface stains but do not whiten teeth. The only way to whiten your teeth is to get a home whitening kit or in surgery whitening at your dental practice.

Lots of other versions but not the actual Crest ones
Can you post a link or screenshot if you can see them please

VinoBianca · 10/10/2021 07:41

I've gone for eucryl and the spotlight toothpaste. Fingers crossed. If only they could sort out my massive overcrowding too Grin
