What to wear to the races

Looking for some inspiration as I never seem to like what I wear now despite having a wardrobe of clothes. I am going to the races soon with DP and a group of friends. Its a rare day out together without toddler so want to feel confident and happy with my outfit. We are not in the really dressy stand so something smart casual with a low heel probably but don't want to look like im going to work.
I usually wear skinny jeans, smart knitwear top kind of outfit for 'day drinks'. Im 5'7 and size 12. Budget around £100-£150.
I've seen some great recommendations here before so if anyone can help me out, I would be very grateful!

Which racecourse? Some are smarter than others.

I’d go for knee length or over the knee boots with skinny trousers tucked in, and a Belstaff-style jacket with a fitted sweater underneath. You might have some or all of those things already?

Thank you. It's York. I do have skinny jeans and knee length boots. Not the jacket but I have a blazer type jacket I could wear which could work x

Have you looked at the website for the racecourse? Sometimes there's a dress code, but most people tend to go dressed for a wedding. I'm going to the races for the first time next month with DH and his new work colleagues and we're all going 'suited and booted'.

She isn’t in the County stand so she won’t want to roll up dressed for a wedding! Don’t be daft. Also, never say “suited and booted”. Are you wearing a suit and boots when you go to the races? Even if you are, don’t say “suited and booted”. You’ll thank me for this advice one day.
