Has anyone bought anything? Am wondering how it wears? Washing instructions are dry clean only which will be a big no so am really interested to hear whether anyone has handwashed their jumpers?
Thanks.

Their cashmere is good and wears well. However, having shopped at Cos since it opened, I have learnt the hard way that many of their items (both knitwear and non-knitwear) shrink when hand washed. As a result, I have learnt not to get too attached to things if I do hand wash them, and in many cases, stick to dry cleaning.

However that said, I have had many items replaced. And for those I have kept, after the initial shrinkage, there's no further shrinkage!

It's not the best, it's not the worst. It feels very nice when new, I don't own any myself but I do know people who have some and it ages okay. I wouldn't be thrilled with it personally but it's not massively bobbling, it just looks faded and a bit lifeless iykwim, could be doen to how they're washing it. I'd have to ask but they're definitely dry cleaning types so I assume it's going in the hand wash cycle in the machine and probably going in a bit more often than necessary.

I did own some Cos cashmere joggers but that was a really long time ago, that bobbled like crazy but that was probably down to the friction between the legs.

I should have stated that the items I've had replaced were all marked machine/hand wash only. I would never try to return an item marked dry clean that has been hand washed.

*definitely not dry cleaning types and excuse other typos, I'd blame the hour but it's no longer that early Blush

Thank you both! I think I’ll give it a miss, much as I love the look of it. I really don’t want to be stuck dry cleaning jumpers and wouldn’t risk hand washing it - and there’s going to be plenty of choice in the shops over the next month or so.

I’ve got 3 cashmere jumpers of theirs from 2017/ 2018 and put them in the washing machine. All are still in great condition, hardly any bobble and wear them constantly when it cold. I actually wish they would wear out so I could replace as bit bored of them now!

Oh no, I've written it off and closed the browser but am now re-thinking! Are yours dry clean only on the label? The jumper is around £140 so I don't want to shrink it after a few wears!

I only have one cashmere jumper from Cos but my experience is that it has worn and washed well for the price. (As an aside, I would never waste money on cashmere from Hush again!)

LunaTheCat · 25/09/2021 07:51

I have a cashmere scarf which I love and has worn well over last 3 to 4 winters.

hoxt · 25/09/2021 07:53

I rate cos cashmere, & also H&M (same company). It happily goes through the washing machine & the jumpers are good shapes!

MacNTosh · 25/09/2021 08:05

I love the cashmere sweater I bought from Cos two years ago, it says dry clean but I hand wash it followed by a light spin in the washing machine to get the excess water out. All cashmere pills, it’s not a sign of quality but if you remove with a cashmere comb before washing the pilling reduces with time. The quality is much better than the one I bought from Uniqlo.

AwkwardSquad · 25/09/2021 08:11

I’ve got one cashmere jumper from Cos, from maybe three or four years ago? I machine wash it on the wool cycle and it comes out fine, and very little bobbling. I’m pretty sure the label does say that it can be washed, though, otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it.

Just checked the label and mine says 30degree wash. It’s still in perfect condition, no bobbling and I have washed and worn it constantly….but interesting of their newer labels are saying dry clean only
