UK quirky / ethical clothes/tops (like Gorman, Forgotten Tribes) for WFH?

Hello lovely S&B-ers, can you please help me find some quirky/asymmetric/interesting but ethical tops for WFH that are in the UK (or at least deliver / do returns to/from UK without post brexit hassle / massive journey / fees)?

I've seen Gorman mentioned on S&B, and really like their stuff, but it's in Australia, and I think there was a bit of a row about their ethics.

Also like Forgotten Tribes in the UK, esp things like this asymmetric top, but there seems to be a lot of acrylic and not really things that are suitable on Zoom for work.

I really like avant-garde / asymmetric linen things like this seller from the Ukraine, but I'm put off by ££ postage/taxes/can't return etc..

I want to like Gudrun Sjödén but it's all a bit shapeless and/or I don't like the patterns.

I'm in my 40s, size 12-14, prefer black/grey but willing to take a punt on colour. I definitely like the Swedish architect look, so angular things rather than frills or puff sleeves or bows, but can't find anything in Cos I like. Lost a bit of weight recently too, but before was in a bit of a habit of hiding podge behind Lagenlook-style massive triangle tunics, so I'm trying to steer clear of those.

I rifled through Baukjen a bit, but it was all a bit animal printy (I'm not ready to dress like my mother), too fussy/pouffy or too plain.

Starting a new job soon, and I'd like to pretend I'm put together rather than having to stare at myself on video calls in the same old endless black tops ....Smile

Help! Or am I just too fussy? Grin TIA!

oh, not forgetting John Lewis' Kin, but it tends to be massive or out of stock. Aiii.

People Tree? Its hard OP, I would love to find more ethical places to shop for nice clothes

Saturday by Megan Ellaby

Some Gudrun stuff has more structure than you might think at first glance. Check out the fit.
Often there will be a plain coloured version as well as a distinctive pattern.
You can also layer for a more structured look.

Ooh, thanks, Saturday and People Tree definitely tick the ethical box, Saturday is quirkier, nothing I'm mad on right now, but will check back.

Walker and Walker? Might not quite fit your quirky requirement though www.thewalkerandwalker.co.uk/shopyourstyle

I found Lora Gene, ticks the ethical box and I think they make to order, so slow fashion. Might try a shirt, I like the wonky button ones. And I like the mahoosive trousers, not that anyone can see them on zoom.

@Brogues ace thanks, walker & walker look great for basics, not quirky but love bamboo!

Oh wow, check out House of Flint for slow fashion, ecofriendly and amazing models! Nothing quite right for me tops wise but I love what they're doing and q tempted by the wrap dress, although it's £210! www.houseofflint.co.uk/shop/the-fold-dress-grey

Have you tried Psylo? They have asymmetric / interesting tops along similar lines to Forgotten Tribes but in natural materials

Flippetyflipok · 22/09/2021 22:43

@Sadik thanks, Psylo is a bit too informal for WFH, but I like some of the trousers :).
