Celtic & Co sheepskin boots? Or alternative?

I'd like a pair of sheepskin or sheepskin style boots. I'm about to have another baby and need warm sturdy boots to quickly pull on with pretty much anything.

I've always chickened out of real sheepskin boots in the past and just bought Amazon cheapies made of polyester, but I'm trying to make more ethical/longer term choices and wondered if real sheepskin was the way to go.

Celtic & Co boots seem to be up there with the best and there's a decent choice but they're just so expensive. £160 for fairly plain boots

Any experiences? Or suggestions?

And if you don't like the style that's absolutely fine, no need to comment Wink

I have a pair of their Celts which are warm and when they wore out I was able to send them back to be resoled for a small fee which impressed me. Don’t tend to wear them out and about too much but I live in a cold house in Scotland with hard floors and they’re fantastic. I also have their Aqualamb water-resistant ones which I wear to walk the dog on the beach on all but the wettest days.

People seem to have fairly strong feelings one way or another about Ugg-style boots but For me warm feet are more important than being seen as fashionable. I also like Celts because they use British sheepskin which supports British farmers and they make them in this country.

They’re not cheap but we’ll worth it in my opinion.

I have the Celtic and co house boots, they lasted about two years so ok quality (that was daily wear). However I bought sheepskin slippers from them last year and the sheepskin wore down in about three wears. To be fair, they gave me a full refund straight away with no argument, but I won’t buy from them again - for the price I expect them to be hard wearing.

@BurningTheToast how waterproof would you say the Aqualambs are? I just assumed they’d be rubbish and I’d get wet feet but intrigued that you go for beach walks in them!

Well, I wear them most days and only got wet toes late one summer evening when I may have had one glass of wine too many and splashed through a rock pool I didn’t notice….

Generally wet weather they’ve been fine though.

Ok thanks - I'd like them to last a decent amount of time given their cost. There are some other cheaper brands that are also sheepskin but I'm not sold on any of the styles. Hmm.

I had EMU waterproof ones a while back, lasted 3 years easily

Have a look at the Greson sale - they have some nice sheepskin ones in the sale (half price) fabulous quality (super expensive full price)
