Really Cool Nightwear - Ice Cold

Is there any chance anyone knows of nightclothes that help deal with sweats? The peri menopause night sweats are driving me bananas and I think I need ice cold pyjamas. Or at least something in which I don't end up a soggy mess by 3am. I keep the bedroom really cold but it doesn't help and my jamas are worse than gym clothes by morning.

Any thoughts?

I just wear a really thin sleeveless nightshirt

https://www.johnlewis.com/browse/women/womens-nightwear/100-cotton/_/N-fm0Z1yzz01b or something from here if you want shoulders covered? 100 % cotton definitely the way to go

I tried thin cotton ones from uniqlo, John Lewis and M&S. I tried sleeping in the buff, having sheets and blankets so I could add and take off layers depending on heat levels both internal and environmental. The only flipping thing that stopped them in the end was HRT. Within two nights no more sweats or debilitating hot flushes in the day. I had never intended to go on HRT but I was exhausted from being up on and off all night washing or showering and changing bedding, nightwear. I can really sympathise. I had no idea it could be as debilitating.

What about putting a cooling mat under your sheet?

Here’s the link for menopause nighties. I use them and love them. They don’t stop the hot flushes, and instead stop your night clothes getting soaked and waking up freezing and wet. Good luck. x

I've ended up wearing 100% cotton nighties. M & S do some as does next.

The days when I used to shop for Cody pajamas are well and truly over.

Yes, HRT stopped my sweats very quickly. Also I used to use a fan directed my way which helped a lot.

I have a linen night shirt from www.pigletinbed.com. It's lovely and cool.

I use tencel night dresses, they don't keep the flushes away but wick off the sweat.
Another thing that works for me is cutting out sugar, but I know that's easier said than done.

If you are at the point you are struggling with night sweats and you have other peri-menopausal symptoms then surely it's time for to start HRT?

Thank you all so much! This is what I love Mumsnet for: lovely support. I will investigate and see if any will suit. I usually hate nighties because they ruck up but I need to do something. Cool sheet sounds ace.

The day sweats are pretty brutal too. Never realised it could kick off so early - I'm 41 - and I'm in discussions with the doc about gynae stuff. I will raise hrt and see what they say.
