Can I still wear my yellow Joules coat?

I’ve had it a few years now, but still love it. It didn’t get much wear last year, as obviously due to COVID I didn’t do much. But have yellow coats had their day?

Does anyone else's Joules raincoat go bumpy in the rain?!

youvegottenminuteslynn · 21/09/2021 22:45

Yellow raincoats always make me think of the film IT Grin

MrsFin · 22/09/2021 10:08

The coat played a major role in Keeping Faith as I remember.

WoozySnoozy · 22/09/2021 10:28

I'd wear it. It will make you more visible in the dark.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/09/2021 10:36

I have a yellow rainjacket. Couldn't tell you the make without going to check. Have had it for ages. I love it. The only issue is if I wear it in the summer it seems to attract wasps, and I'm pathetic around wasps. Great for the rest of the year, though! Makes a nice change to see someone in a bright coat during the dull winter months.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 22/09/2021 13:00

Wear it! The planet needs us to keep wearing stuff. It's my new plan, to wear stuff until it's worn out.

On an unrelated note, for @notlongtillxmas. Who is this Blue Bully in the cupboard, of which you speak? Indulge me please Grin

HarebrightCedarmoon · 22/09/2021 13:11

I would if I had one. It reminds me of Eve Myles in Keeping Faith.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 22/09/2021 14:19

To the pp who said yellow makes you look like a Simpson, just dye your hair blue Grin

notlongtillxmas · 22/09/2021 16:15

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants it's that blue parka who smells of wet dog and has a half chewed Werthers original in the pocket
He's been taking up all my space and squishing me for months !

NewLifePending · 22/09/2021 16:17

I will be wearing mine

adrianmolesmole · 22/09/2021 16:21

You don't need to ask permission.

snowspider · 22/09/2021 16:23

The only person I've seen wearing one is Eve Myles filming Keeping Faith in Laugharne, of course you should wear it if you like it and it fits Smile

itsgettingwierd · 22/09/2021 16:24

Sainsbury's have some in this year so I'm guessing they are still in the trend.

But even so if it's waterproof and still works I don't think it's illegal to wear it WinkGrin

peachgreen · 22/09/2021 16:27

I have a yellow Seasalt raincoat and I will wear it until it falls apart because a) it cost a bomb and b) it's the best waterproof coat I've ever owned. Don't care if it's not fashionable any more!

Allthesefolks · 22/09/2021 16:45

Wear it! I have both a Joules and a Seasalt coat, a little bit of me died when I bought them but I’ve given in to the practicality! I just wear my more fashionable coat/jackets on non-rainy days.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 22/09/2021 16:47

@notlongtillxmas Grin

tigger1001 · 22/09/2021 16:51

@RobertaFirmino

I have news for you...

YOU CAN WEAR WHAT THE FUCK YOU LIKE!

100% this!

Op, do you like the coat? If the answer is yes, then keep wearing it. You don't need validation that it's still "in fashion"

gunnersgold · 22/09/2021 18:12

I've seen yellow coats on the shops so it's fine !

Deathraystare · 23/09/2021 10:07

I have seen quite a few yellow coats that I think are from there. Yes! wear it - too much dull stuff around!

Coffeepot72 · 24/09/2021 13:17

Thank you everyone! I will be wearing it again this year 😃

Update: I saw the yellow coat today on Freshwater West beach, I shall now be seeing them everywhere I expect!
