Hi all, I am wondering if anyone can help with this. I am just really in need of ideas as it doesnt seem to matter if it is actually really hot or not now, my face is constantly wet. My make up clearly won't stay in place because of it and I feel just fed up. Anyone know what to do?

Watching with interest as I'm the same. I swear masks make it worst. I used to used to use Face Saver gel but even that's not working these day.

WrinklesShminkles · 19/09/2021 15:29

Same here - I'd love to find some sort of antiperspirant face cream. In the meantime I have a kit in my bag of mattifying face mist, little towelling squares, paper fan, hair clip, shine absorbing papers, and suchlike.

GoodnightGrandma · 19/09/2021 15:31

I find some moisturisers make my face sweat more, maybe they block the pores.

Mayhemmumma · 19/09/2021 15:41

I find the simple de matifying moisturiser really good so long as I put it on when my Face is clean and completely dry

AbandonedCharacter · 19/09/2021 15:46

I have a small hand-bag sized fan and the little absorbing papers.

GoodnightGrandma · 19/09/2021 15:49

Have you seen the face fans that go around your neck, they look like they might work.

Viciouslybashed · 19/09/2021 16:04

I've not seen the face fans. Will look but I work with small children so not sure if that will work.
I feel like there should be something. I am constantly drying my face on school green paper towels. It's just very annoying and a bit upsetting actually as I feel a bedraggled mess.

Oooh mattifying face mist will Google that too.

Magicool spray, I find it very cooling!

RiverSkater · 19/09/2021 16:23

Or one of those ice towels, I used one for hot flushes.

WrinklesShminkles · 19/09/2021 16:37

I've wondered about those cooling neck scarves - I think you wet them (with sweat? ha ha) and the evaporation cools you?

WrinklesShminkles · 19/09/2021 16:43

This sort of thing - no idea if they actually work:

HRT!

Mominatrix · 19/09/2021 16:53

Dependant on your age, I second HRT.

Q1w2e3 · 19/09/2021 16:56

I nearly wrote this exact OP last week. I am fed up of feeling bedraggled too. I’m 45 & have no other perimenopause symptoms - is HRT the solution in this case? Thanks.

UndeadSlut · 19/09/2021 17:01

I have this too and I'm 36! I don't even need to feel especially hot, I just have a really wet sweaty face, it's horrid.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/09/2021 17:05

Odaban can be used on facial skin.

Viciouslybashed · 19/09/2021 17:48

I was looking up wipes to use in your face and when you Google problem face sweating it brings up an answer click on it and it is for armpits so not sure can use them. It is awful. No comfort knowing lots of us seem to suffer. Mine could be menopausal I suppose. Don't fancy my chances of getting an appt with Dr any time soon. Will try though.

Have you tried to get a GP appointment @Viciouslybashed? I wasn't hopeful about getting one after reading how utterly impossible it now is, phoned up, got one the next day at 10am. I was amazed!

FredaFox · 19/09/2021 18:26

I've had this for over 20 years, I'm now at an age where peri menopause could appear so I'm concerned I'll forever be a hot mess

The recent muggy weather causes my face to sweat, my long hair does at times so I wear it up in hot weather.

I'm ok in normal weather but as soon as it's muggy or recently went fur a work meal in a room with no air con I look terrible with visible sweat on my face (and hair goes frizzy and loses the style I'd spend ages doing)

I do like having a fan on me but that's not practical so watching this thread for tips!!

Viciouslybashed · 19/09/2021 18:37

To be fair to my GPs my children have needed appointments recently and each of them have been seen one way or another. It's getting through that is the issue for me and we have to ring before 10 regardless. Suppose been a mess for this long few more weeks won't make much difference.

There are certain medications that help, such as oxybutinin. Works very well.

MancMum2000 · 19/09/2021 18:39

Oxybutynin sorry!

daisylashes · 19/09/2021 18:46

Also me. I find an exfoliating face wash and a powder foundation is the best. Or nothing
Mominatrix · 20/09/2021 05:59

One option which has not been mentioned and works is Botox.
