Maybe if the brides a goth and wants to stand out in the photographs

Atalune · 19/09/2021 10:38

No.

MintyGreenDream · 19/09/2021 10:38

I meant for a wedding guest

No of course not. It’s a wedding not a goth party.

SalsaLove · 19/09/2021 10:40

I don’t think black lace is appropriate for a wedding.

ZealAndArdour · 19/09/2021 10:41

Nope.

WeAreTheHeroes · 19/09/2021 10:41

It is not a goth dress just because it is predominantly black. As you're not sure, ask the bride, assuming you know her.

ElizaDarcysDeeds · 19/09/2021 10:42

I don't think it's suitable.

dudsville · 19/09/2021 10:42

If you're going to the evening do only, and if it's black tie, then yes.

millenialblush · 19/09/2021 10:42

No. Its not 'a lot of black' - its a black dress

ANameChangeAgain · 19/09/2021 10:42

Depends on the wedding. If its black tie then yes, if its country house then no.
We went to a Scottish Castle Wedding years ago and the men wore kilts and women wore evening dresses, which looked fab.

MaverickDanger · 19/09/2021 10:43

If you’re not sure, then I wouldn’t do it.

I’m also wouldn’t ask the bride as it puts her in a difficult position to say no if she doesn’t like it.

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/09/2021 10:43

Perfect for black tie evening event.

LakeShoreD · 19/09/2021 10:43

Too much black for a wedding and unless the invite says black tie wedding the style is also too formal and you risk looking like a bridesmaid wannabe. Sorry but I’d keep looking.

RunningStrong · 19/09/2021 10:43

Would you usually wear an evening dress for a wedding?

I don't think you can wear that much black and the style in a different colour would make you look like a wannabe bridesmaid

ReeseWitherfork · 19/09/2021 10:46

For me it's how formal it is more than the colour. I don't usually go that formal to weddings. But I don't know the dress code.

MintyGreenDream · 19/09/2021 10:47

Back to the drawing board then.I wear midi dresses usually but dont want to be cold!

I have issues with red for a wedding but I accept they are my issues 😂 the style of the red dress is ideal I think.

ashmts · 19/09/2021 10:51

I know you've already decided against it, but just wanted to add that I've ordered this dress before and it's really poor quality. Nothing like the picture, there was far too much material in the skirt.

ashmts · 19/09/2021 10:51

Sorry, my last post was about the black dress. The red one is better

Sarcobaleno · 19/09/2021 10:52

Red one is much better

PoorCatto · 19/09/2021 11:07

I recently wore black to a wedding (with permission). Bride was alternative though and was a relaxed do. I would definitely ask the bride. Ironically, the bride has asked to borrow my dress to attend a wedding as a guest herself. 😝

dudsville · 19/09/2021 12:12

Your second dress is an easy "yes". Very pretty too.

I have issues with red dresses too 😂 an old myth that you’re a scorned mistress or something if you wear red to a wedding! Has always stuck in my head
