Naturally wavy hair (2a), best lightweight curl enhancers?

My hair has a natural 2a wave to it when left to its own devices, if I brush it it goes frizzy and loses most of the wave. I’m Caucasian with fine-medium textured, coloured hair, like, the pic but not so much of it! I’m looking for a lightweight, non greasy curl enhancer that I can scrunch in and won’t leave me crunchy. I see a lot of ‘puddings’ and creams on the market but tbh, they look like they’re formulated for hair types that can take more gloop than mine, ingredients like Shea butter give me fear of the greasies. Any recommendations gratefully received.

Have a try of the curlsmith lightweight protein cream. Seems to give good definition.

For hold that gives a good cast (but scrunches out beautifully) I use Snot by Creme of nature. I also add at the beginning a tint amount (literally pea size) of cantu curl activator.

My hair loves protein so I make sure I use a protein conditioner (Just the cheapy XHC banana or ginger.

I have 3 a/b curls and ringlets and my hair has got way better definition since using the dyson hairdryer to diffuse.

Such a good example of why styling wet will give you better results…. www.instagram.com/reel/CL4wk9IHcLA/?utm_medium=copy_link

@Mrsfenchurch

The idea when I style IS to get it to end up crunchy - from my recent understanding of taming my waves (after 20 years of GHDs) this is the ‘cast’. It’s the thing that holds the hairs in a pattern & stops the (in my case crazy) frizz whilst it dries - I guess like having it stuck to a roller! Then once it is bone dry I scrunch out the crunch (literally scrunch gently until the crunchiness is gone (AKA break the ‘cast’) and you’ll have soft shiny defined waves. I use a leave in conditioner, strong hold gel (50p size blob) & mousse (between golf & tennis ball size blob) on soaking wet hair. Take out the moisture with a T-shirt, And diffuse or air dry.
Sorry if this is creepy but you have the most beautiful hair, if I could get mine to do that I'd ditch my GHDs in a heartbeat! Have a feeling mine would be a curlier ringletty type affair which I'm not as keen on. I want fat, long waves, damn it!

Do you know of any product or method that can 'stretch' out the curl, making them more into waves like yours? Brushing while wet maybe to form bigger clumps?

See you have those lovely fat waves too! Looks touseled and beachy not curly and permy iykwim.

Thank you Blush honestly it’s taken me to 40 to stop fighting & understand my hair. So many years of hating my fluffy frizz-at-the-sight-of-a-rain-drop hair, if only people embraced and learnt about their curls more… I’m on a one woman mission! Even hairdressers still want to blow dry mine straight Confused I leave the salon with mine wet in a leave in deep conditioning treatment nowadays and rewet & style at home.

@Mrsfenchurch I thought that pic was me ! We have exactly the same hair ! I was using boots curl creme until it's been discontinued!
For anyone who is trying to get curls I believe the process is more important than the product though . You need to google curly girl and watch tutorials on adding products when wet and coiling etc . And it's just trial and error . I've worn my hair curly all my life though and it still goes wrong some days ! 🙄🙄

TIGI Curls Rock is great and not too heavy.
