Faux fur blue coat- a mistake?!

I've just bought this faux fur blue coat from M&S and think I really like it! Just not sure when and where I'd wear it? And what I'd wear it with?
I'm early 40s size 16 with young kids

What do you think of it?
Any styling ideas if I do keep it?

Thanks!

I love a fake fur but this one is a difficult length .I have looked at them . I prefer them longer .

GreatestHits · 15/09/2021 10:54

I ordered this in the brown but sent it back because it was huge, I'm a size 12 but the 12 absolutely swamped me. Have reordered in 8 and 10 to see if they're a better fit. We'll see..

Love it ! Will look nice with jeans or anything at all you fancy wearing !

I don’t like the length. It needs to be shorter like the Biden Elsted one or longer bit of course the length may look fine on you.

Thanks for all of your comments!

Mixed opinions...I'll try and get a photo of me wearing it and see what you all think! The colour does suit me so that's something. I like the 'raisin' colour option but it's just not a colour I can wear (I'm a soft summer)

Maybe a longer length would suit me better with my sizeable thighs and bum!

This one from Hush is nice I think, but more expensive...

Depends on your figure really. Boxy fur jackets look amazing with shorter dresses or jeggings and so, in my opinion, look best on apple shapes with lovely toned hips bums / legs. I would probably wear it with a sparkly mini dress and opaques with heels / tight black jeggings, boots.

I like it

This one from SuperDry is quite nice too....grey might go with more?

Won't let me post a pic for some reason!

I'm procrastinating at work and deep into a 'faux fur coat' rabbit hole!

Thanks @Ozanj I'd agree.
In that case maybe longer is better...
I don't wear shorter dresses, definitely don't have the legs for that. Tend to live in barrel leg or Mom jeans ...occasionally a midi length dress

I am mid fifties and would wear a furry coat. I think the shops are full of them this year.

I agree with PP that the cut doesn't quite look right - it looks a bit boxy to me, I would prefer a longer style, and maybe a brighter blue.

CheshireChat · 15/09/2021 13:38

I love furry coats in general, but I'm not a fan of the collar on the M&S one, don't mind the colour though.

Divebar2021 · 15/09/2021 16:07

It doesn’t matter if everyone else prefers a different colour or likes them longer it’s what you think that matters. Do you like it on you? You should be putting it on and saying “ I love it” not umming and ahhhing. It’s fake fur -surely that’s the epitome of fun but given it’s no doubt synthetic construction can you live with it for a few years?
