best hairdryer for frizzy fine hair?

Can anyone recommend me their best hairdryer for fine, frizzy hair?

I seem to end up with wispy bits on top. I want nice shiny smooth hair!

I also have a natural light wave in my hair that I would be keen to retain rather than obliterate.

Do I need ceramic? Ionic? Totally clueless about the various lingo. Would Ionic be bad for my hair? (I heard something about it making hair go flat!??).

Recommendations very welcome. Thank you!

I wouldnt use a hair dryer if you are frizzy and fine.

Wash your hair at night, wonder water, and buy a silk pillow.

Keratin blow dry. It's absolutely transformed my hair.

And avoid heat at all costs. Frizz loves heat.

Dyson. Unfortunately as I hate the company. But the hair dryer is the best.

hi people, thank you for the advice! I will look into these ideas.... but definitely need a hairdryer - for time purposes I need to dry my hair quickly, and my fringe needs it because of the natural curl in it - without a hairdryer it looks really odd and the cow licks look awful (I need a fringe to cover my forehead wrinkles and thinning hairline and look odd without!).

So if anyone has advice on which they use that would be great! Thanks!

@twelvefiftynine what is so good about the dyson?

I second the dyson! It dries my very long hair in 10 mins and smooths it out and straighteners it for me at the same time

I have a Revlon hairdryer and use it with enormous diffuser I got off Amazon. The combo works well on my fine, curly hair. But needs product like mousse or conditioner + gel to get the best effect.

Embrace the wave and avoid heat altogether. I used to dry and straighten my wavy hair. Always ended up putting more and more product on, trying to tame the frizz. Eventually I'd dried it all out so much I went for a bob to get rid of the dry ends and ditched any heat. That was years ago and it's longer again now. The waves got better and better the longer I've stayed away from heat. I use products designed or curls/waves and just wash, scrunch and air dry. It's much less faff Grin. It was nice straight but it wasn't what it wanted to do!

Ah, cross posted. I leave my hair wet in the morning and it's usually dry by the time I get to work to be honest. The fringe could be more tricky. Though, I'd say if you're fighting against a natural curl in your fringe it might be best to lose it.

I have a Parlux drier and love.
I just tried my sis in laws dyson, can’t see what the fuss is about and really awkward to hold

Beebumble2 · 14/09/2021 13:42

I have just done exactly as purplemunkey described . It’s so liberating, after years of trying to get my hair to do the opposite of its growth pattern.
I would say find a hairdresser that understands how to cut curls/waves.
I’m a bit nervous about drying so have bought a Dyson with a diffuser, just in case I need to dry it quickly.

thanks everyone, I do love my fringe so can't bear to lose it! it covers my odd forehead and thinning hairline (I lost a lot of it when i underwent stress).

dyson just sounds a bit expensive to me... but if it helps then may be worth it.
