Damaged Chanel jewellery

I was gifted a Chanel necklace (approx 6 years ago) although was possibly actually a belt I vaguely remember my boss saying that would be much better as a necklace. I wore it a handful of times and it has set nice and safe in its box in a drawer I got it out yesterday to see quite a lot of the paint if flaking off the 'pearls' and wanted to know if anyone knows any policies they have or what I can do?
I was hoping to sell it one day as I never wear it but now can't do that. Do they have any life long warranties as their stuff costs the earth or 6 plus years later I'm on my own and they wouldn't care.
It's one thing having damage from wearing it a lot but it has sat in its box so it has really annoyed.

Are you certain of its authenticity?

BanningTheWordNaice · 13/09/2021 14:10

Chanel jewellery is known for being awful quality.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 13/09/2021 14:12

I’d be surprised if they did a guarantee. Sorry.,

Squiffy01 · 13/09/2021 14:14

@Mariell I am 100% certain yes.

awful quality and no guarantee and not want I wanted to hear but it is what I was expecting. Looks like it won't be funding me until I find another job then..

You could rub off the remaining paint and repearlise them with pearly craft paint.

I assume it’s the costume jewellery, hence not real pearls. I think you can find jewellers who can help but it’s unlikely Chanel will do much.

LonelyBones · 13/09/2021 16:57

Chanel will repair for you.

Squiffy01 · 13/09/2021 20:00

@LonelyBones will they? I assume they would charge? Don't want to go in to a shop and enquire if I'm going to get laughed out.

Have a look on eBay and see if you can find a second hand value. That might give you an idea of whether it is worth pursuing a repair.
