Mum pouch/ stomach

Hi
Have 3 kids ages 8-12.
I'm 5'6 and weigh 13st
Can't seem to get any more weight off (under active thyroid)
Anyway stomach has the mum pouch thing
Has anyone else had any non invasive or Vaser lipo and been happy with results?

Although I sound heavy I'm big build and a size 12 and look good in proportion except this bulge and stops me wearing trousers with a waistband or skin tight dresses

I'm 35

Thanks

I'm interested...i have recently lost 2.5 stone and i still have the mum pouch... made worse cos of the c section overhang

2catsandhappy · 12/09/2021 20:29

Look up cryolypolisis or fat freezing or cool sculpting. I am thinking of this for my tummy fat.

smokeyjane · 12/09/2021 20:36

@2catsandhappy I've had quite a few sessions of cryo lipo previously and it made no difference at all.
I actually think it just made the skin thinner actually

I've used a micro needling kit on my face to encourage collagen production and think I'm going to get the larger roller to do it on my stomach- stretch marks and loose skin and c-section overhang. I've read some reviews and they seem quite positive.

No advice just adding in to see what everyone else says. 3 kids here, diastasis and what feels like a giant mum tum. I've lost 10kg this year and still want to lose more, now at 69kg, but it just won't come off my gut! I'm 5'5, and would be in a 10-12 but it's literally all on the front. Have considered saving for abdominoplasty but it's so expensive.

StopThrowingCitrusFruitFFS · 13/09/2021 11:31

I feel your pain! I won't shell out for abdominoplasty. It's also the recovery time. I can't be out of action for long with young dcs! Also don't want to have to explain "no mummy can't pick you up because she's so fucking vain she had major surgery" Grin. Because, in my case, it would 100% be vanity.

Anyway, it's not a fun option, but I'm trying exercise. Weights and core work with a PT once a week and cardio and yoga the rest of the week. I think it's making some difference. I'll never have a totally flat tummy again, but I'm ok with it (but would absolutely love a flat tummy please)!

Weight loss doesn't make a lot of difference to my belly, but exercise seems to. Also, it could be partially bloating? I definitely get this is I overdo it on gluten, sugar and booze.

Aside from that, wearing longer tops over jeans which do a bit of holding in, seems to help my confidence.

LimpLettice · 13/09/2021 11:43

Agreed! It is vanity, but I do find it so depressing working hard to shift the weight when that part just doesn't change. My kids are way too young to even consider putting myself out of action for that long.

Diastasis means exercise has to be careful, and I'm finding current jeans fashions do not help!

Is there a non tummy tuck lipo option?
See vaser lipo starts from £2k.
Don't really want to go through all the poking & criticising to then be told it's actually £5k etc

I don’t mean this in a bad way so please don’t misunderstand. But those figures suggest you might be a small build fighting to get out. At my biggest I was 15 st and a size 16/18 (height is 5 ft 7). While a lot of it was muscle (I lift weights) I was definitely overweight. I am now 11.5 stones and the mum tum (as well as everything else) has toned significantly and I’m a size 10.

I have Hashimotos so weight loss has to be slow

BroccoliSprout · 13/09/2021 17:07

13st is very heavy at 5ft6. I’m the same height and weight 9st. And I still have a mum tum. Unfortunately I think it’s because pregnancy stretched me out of shape and only surgery will fix it.

snackodactyl · 13/09/2021 17:29

oh gosh, this is me. 9 and half years after my second C section and this is the last thing i need to deal with and it’s unavoidable as it’s just too obvious and my lower back is suffering. i’m starting small with this short video to address any diastasis and wake up the transverse abs - the exercise at the end really does wake them up too! love the comments too - eg ‘does this work if my baby is 468 weeks old?’ 😂

Disabrie22 · 13/09/2021 17:44

Sadly I think the only way to really see a difference with a mum tum is to eat no sugar - ever. You’ll see a difference but it’s a slog.

Do you mean no refined sugar...or no sugar at all? Like no fruit, no sweetcorn etc? If it's the latter, it would be a seriously hard call for me between just having a mum tum forever or saying farewell to my sweet, sweet sugar 😬

I have hashimotos and I've lost weight very successfully with slimming world
