To dye or not to dye??

I?m 32 and have a good dozen of silver hairs which do show in my natural light brown colour. I?m initially not bothered by this however my colleagues and family are reacting and telling me that it?s very easy to dye hair at home.

I feel too young to start!

Once I start it will have to be forever to avoid roots showing.

It looks expensive

On the other hand, I?ve had a close look in a packed train this morning and not one woman had grey hairs.

Do everybody dye then?

go to the hairdresser and see what they recommend? Maybe you could get some highlights done that would blend in with the silver?

If you don't want to be worried about the roots showing until you are comfortable with colouring your hair regularly try a temporary colour - it washes out over a few weeks so as the roots grow out you don't get that awful line.

Re being too soon to start - I've had white hairs since I was 17, and yes, I colour it (although have become very lazy since ds was born so am now very white).

Do you have highlights BS30? How often do you have them done?

I have been colouring mine since ... um ... can't remember! Initially it was because my mousy brown was boring but these days it is to hide the grey.

Would agree with trying temp ones or highlights to avoid the line.

yes i have highlights and get them done every 3 months.

If you genuinely don't care, don't do it. Personally, i have been dying my hair for years anyway, so now the grey is starting to appear it's no biggie. I can see why you don't want the commitment, though.

DON'T DO IT - or at least don't go darker than your natural colour. I was about 36 before I started to dye mine. Did it dark and it looked fantastic. The trouble is, I now want to go back to my own colour with highlights to let the grey blend in and it just won't work. Done it myself and been to a good hairdresser - the only way would beto grow it out. But I have long hair and would look like a bloody badger
