Does anyone else think this is wrong?

OP posts:
LawnFever · 11/09/2021 08:48

@ISpyCobraKai

Unfortunately *@LawnFever* yes, I do remember the smell. Thank god there were no camera phones or social media back then, as my permed Sun Inned hair and shell suit, with LA Gear trainers are not something I wish to come back to haunt me.
Oh my god are you me Grin
Doggiedementia · 11/09/2021 08:50

I had a perm too😂😂😂 but mine was a home perm my mum did.

I looked like a mushroom.

CattyMcNips · 11/09/2021 09:10

My youngest has gorgeous hair that people would pay £££ for, I know I do... but she's 4 and it's all natural.

MrsBumm · 11/09/2021 09:16

I had a perm! But I didn't know how to look after it and it was all frizzy and I looked like a footballer.

SeriouslyISuppose · 11/09/2021 09:20

@Doggiedementia

Sun in made the biggest mess of my hair in 1985.
We all did it, @Doggiedementia! Grin

Or, judging by my school photos, we were doing the other Eighties Delight of experimenting with aubergines hair dye.

Doggiedementia · 11/09/2021 09:25

😂😂😂

Okbutnotgreat · 11/09/2021 09:29

In the early 80s as a young teenager I had the sun inned hair, awful home perms, diy highlights where you pulled it through a cap with a crochet hook, and our local chemist sold lots of different wash in wash out hair colours that I could buy with pocket money. It was fun, I must have looked awful but no damage done and I’ve grown up into a nice responsible adult. Bigger things to get your knickers in a twist about than hair colour @TimeThief

Coffeeonmytoffee · 11/09/2021 09:31

My DD is 11 and looks like I've highlighted her hair - I haven't. Maybe it's just that.
My middle DD has white blonde hair and even a hairdresser asked if it was highlighted.
I think young people and children often have really amazing hair.

Toners and Shaders? I used them too alongside sun in.
redpontipine · 11/09/2021 09:52

DS who is 10 wanted the "Foden" cut for the holidays. Bleached with a low volume and had it cut in for the summer holidays.
He had his hair cut short before school started again and it's grown out completely.
Each to their own, I don't think it's a big deal. It's hair.

ufucoffee · 11/09/2021 09:53

I thought the OP was talking about really young children not teens. Which was it @TimeThief ?

ThisIsStartingToBoreMe · 11/09/2021 09:54

OP who are you talking about?

ShuddaBeenMe · 11/09/2021 09:58

Never noticed this.

MsSquiz · 11/09/2021 10:04

@Wole I asked the Op to share the pictures because i wanted to know if they are talking about toddlers or 15 year old kids! There's a massive difference.
Also, when I was a kid, my brown hair would get gorgeous sun bleached streaks naturally in the summer, so it could be natural.

Strawbsaturno · 11/09/2021 10:06

How old are you taking about? I know some 11/12 year old who have highlights, because their hair has darkened as they’ve got older, but meh? It’s their business isn’t it?

Wole · 11/09/2021 10:06

Ah I see fair enough..Good point no idea what age kids they are.

Does anyone else think this is wrong?
Why are you so concerned with other people's lives?
Seesawmummadaw · 11/09/2021 10:23

I think lots of things are wrong in the world but I don’t really notice celebrities children’s hair colour.

LynetteScavo · 11/09/2021 10:24

I need to see photos to know what you're on about.

I put lemon juice in DSs hair on a sunny day to see what happened. It was surprisingly effective Grin I may have done it again several times

doodleygirl · 11/09/2021 10:33

I don’t care if someone’s kid has colour in their hair, and I don’t understand why you care. It’s just hair, colour, it grows out.

If I were you I would find something of greater importance to worry about.

whatthejiggeries · 11/09/2021 11:57

Don't see the issue

SeriouslyISuppose · 11/09/2021 12:00

My nine year old has blue hair at the moment, of the wash-in-wash-out type, because he wanted to, and his school is the kind of hippy environment where the kids call the teachers by their first names and no one has an issue with strange clothes or hair.

He looks vaguely like a small, male Effie Trinket in a GAA shirt, but he likes it. Grin

PomRuns · 11/09/2021 12:02

Ah yes toners and shaders - I got the red ones !

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/09/2021 12:11

When I was 6 my teacher asked me if my mummy was putting something in my hair to make it blonde because I was very dark but the sun bleached it and it looked like I’d had meche highlights.

I answered chamomile shampoo.

midsomermurderess · 11/09/2021 12:11

No one need to see the photos of other people's kids to judge whether they approve of their hair. This place is increasingly ridiculous. It's nobody's business. Stop it
