Converse

I've never had Converse trainers but I've had several pairs of shoes that style and wore them a lot. I'm not bothered about owning brands but I'm wondering if real Converse offer better quality so are worth the money. If they are really comfortable or durable I might try some.

Any advice?
Thanks 😊

They offer no support to the foot.
They aren't particularly durable but they still look ok if not in pristine condition.

I find the footbed far too flat and hard.
They are not really any better quality than no name fabric pumps.

Durable enough to survive the washing machine.

I like them partly because they come in a lot more colours than any of the imitators and partly because they are fairly narrow, which suits the shape of my feet. And yes, being washable is useful too.

They are a bit thin-soled on their own and could be uncomfortable for longer walks, but I usually put insoles in all my shoes anyway, as I pronate a bit and wear them out very quickly if I don't.

I find them far too thin-soled and uncomfortable. I like Keds and Supergas.

I bought a more substantial pair of Converse in TKMaxx years ago and I wore them til they fell apart. I wish I knew what they were called.

Thanks everyone. That's all really helpful - think I'll keep on looking at cheaper alternatives!

The canvas ones are really uncomfortable but I've had some leather trainers from them that were great.

I love them and don't think cheaper ones compare. Mine usually last about 5 years or so and I get them from their outlet in Swindon. You don't have to pay £70 for them.

I think they’ve improved - they used to be sooo hard and uncomfortable but I bought a pair recently (total sucker for leopard print…) and they’re much better - the tongue and I think some of the upper is now padded and I think the sole feels thicker.
