It was in the Observer yesterday! Apparentely they're made with japanese denim which is better quality....

The price is appealing and the cut looks good. Does anyone own a pair?

my dp got some work shirts there a few years ago.
They have outlasted
Boden and M+S ones

Snaf · 03/12/2007 11:57

No, although I've got some combats from them which I love. I think their stuff is pretty good quality for a high-street store.

sakurarose39 · 04/12/2007 06:14

I wear Uniqlo jeans - have for years now. In fact most of my clothes (undies, tops, knitwear...) come from Uniqlo, coz I don't like shopping and its all in one place and I live in Japan...so there are loads of stores.
The kids/mens clothes are good too.
The jeans wash well, and last for ages.
at the UK prices...my jeans cost the equivalent of about 17 quid...

ImBarryScott · 04/12/2007 07:12

I have the exact ones pictured in the Observer [smug ahead of the pack emoticon].

I love 'em. They encase my large arse suitably well. They seemed to have changed the cuts recently, as before they seemed to be cut for the more petite woman. I'm 5'9 and enormo-bottomed, and the new cut fits perfectly.

hoxtonchick · 04/12/2007 08:08

yes, i have 3 pairs, they're great. and an embarrasing number of jumper dresses. and cashmere cardigans. i work 5 minutes from both oxford st shops.... 'nuff said.

LaCerbiatta · 04/12/2007 09:39

Oh I didn't know there were shops! I'm going to Oxford st next week! Where are they?

LaCerbiatta · 04/12/2007 09:41

Sorry for the stupid question.... just found them on their website.

I love their stuff no one ever knows where I got them from.
have loads of tops too and they last

onebatmother · 04/12/2007 09:52

I have jeans! But not these ones. Mine are v v nice dark japanese denim w a slight bootcut and no artificial crease marks.
Not avail online so get to a shop if you can.
I am v v proud of self.

DaDingDaDongDaMerrilyOnHigh · 04/12/2007 09:55

Uniqlo rocks.

The men's jeans are a bit of a funny cut though. Or maybe I'm just a funny shape (they seem too big around the waist)

castille · 04/12/2007 09:57

They look fab. Are they long? Will they flap around my ankles?

onebatmother · 04/12/2007 11:07

actually castille they are rather long I'm afraid. Maybe they overestimated the hugeness of the average European.

Swedes2Turnips1 · 04/12/2007 14:50

Oooh. I want a pair. I keep reading about them. What is the sizing like OBM?

onebatmother · 04/12/2007 15:19

I theeenk it's pretty accurate. Certainly my size 6's are ... taut.

thats a joke btw.

Swedes2Turnips1 · 04/12/2007 15:26

funny how a single digit number can make you go off someone, instantly.

Swedes2Turnips1 · 04/12/2007 15:28

OMG - I would have to liquidize myself and pour myself into a size 6. Rest assured there would be sufficient smoothie leftovers for the whole of Mumsnet.

onebatmother · 04/12/2007 16:59

lolol!

hoxtonchick · 04/12/2007 17:31

the really big oxford st one is opposite john lewis.

ChippyMincepie · 04/12/2007 20:51

I got a pair ages ago - do they still do free length alterations i wonder?

woodenchair · 04/12/2007 23:03

They used to have stores all over the place but they shut all their regional ones to concentrate on London

There was one in Leicester, I used to go in their weekly it was great. The stuff has really lasted.

faustina · 05/12/2007 05:59

uniqlo jeans are brilliant. I have some and my 15yr old son does too (they are his favourites) The new oxford street shop is wonderful - we were there a couple of weeks ago and they do still do free alterations. Since we live in suffolk though we normally order online - they have an excellent website, with free p and p at the moment (not free returns though), and anything we order is normally here a couple of days later - also returns and refunds really quickly handled. The sizing is about the same as Gap except I found the women's' tops smaller

CurrantBun · 06/12/2007 16:32

I found the women's tops really big (but I am v. v. tiny). Every XS top I picked up when shopping on Friday was really, really long - even the 'classic' cut cashmere sweaters. No good for me unfortunately - I liked a lot of what I saw in the store.

PetitFilou1 · 06/12/2007 16:39

I have two pairs - they are great and they fit my curvy bum without a huge gap at the waist like so many other jeans. And they are really good value.

Blu · 06/12/2007 16:43

I commented on a friends v nice new jeans only yesterday, and she said 'Uniqlo'.

smokedsalmonatlunch · 08/12/2007 17:21

Are they very low on the waist? i need some more jeans, but can't wear too low
