Keeping hair as straight as possible after washing (without heat)

I straighten my hair most days but wanting to keep the heat off it for drying and let it dry naturally. What can I do to keep it as straight as possible so don’t need too much straightening? If I just leave it, it goes very crinkly and takes a lot of straightening first time! Any tips welcome. Quick tips preferable, takes ages with dryer on cold setting. I have long hair. Any way of putting it up to keep it straighter?

Can't relate as I have naturaly bone straight hair lol. (Wish I had curly hair) but have you considered perming it straight??

There is a method called wrapping that I've seen online. But that is more for once it has been blowdried I think.

I sometimes braid/plait mine when it's wet to sleep on it. It's not as good as blow drying by any stretch of the imagination, but it is better than leaving it naturally.

@PepsiHoover she wants to keep it straight plaiting it would make it curly

I know this isn't what you are asking but the dyson airwrap is great for straightning hair while drying it without any damage.

Could you swap from straight to curly/wavy I straighten my hair in the evening, but I still have to go over it in the morning but it's much quicker than the full job but I much prefer to plait or twist bun and sleep with it like that then loosen it in the morning, it's miles easier and I have long hair too that I prefer to be down.

There are videos on YouTube about no heat straightening involving clipping hair in certain ways

I have wavy hair that will frizz in damp. It stays smoother if I put some argon oil on after drying. Just a small amount on my hands then smoothed over to the ends. Avoid near the scalp.

I think tying it back in ways that it dries flatter than it would loose might be the only option. But ties back hair can take forever to dry!

Plaits will leave the plaited bit curly - but will that be easier to straighten than how your hair is when just left? Or unplaited pony tail where you tie your hair at intervals sothe whole tail lies straight-ish? Or as suggested abound, curled as plain as possible into a bun
