Deodorant again - or Botox ?

GoodnightGrandma · 27/08/2021 09:47

This should probably be in menopause, but posting for traffic.
Swapped to Mitchum stick about a year ago, them progressed to Sure Maximum Protection after posting on here. It’s still not working.
My arm pits are wet, it’s showing on my uniform and I’m embarrassed. I can sometimes smell myself too.
What next ?
Shall I try an unfragranced men’s deodorant ?
Has anyone tried Botox ?
Any suggestions please. Yes I wash with soap. I wear cotton as much as possible.

Try triple dry 2 x a day or odaban but if it doesn’t work have the Botox.

GoodnightGrandma · 27/08/2021 10:42

Has anyone experience of the Botox ? I wouldn’t know where to start.

Odaban worked for me during long working days in 42C heat. Definitely worth a try.

Call your GP.
You can get referral for Botox via NHS after diagnosis of hyperhidrosis.

“If there's no obvious cause for your sweating, and nothing seems to be helping, then you may be referred to a specialist (dermatologist).

They may recommend other treatments that you can try, such as:

taking tablets that reduce sweating
treating the areas with a weak electric current passed through water or on a wet pad (iontophoresis)
having botox injections for sweating under the armpits (this may not be available on the NHS)
surgery – for example, removal of the sweat glands
Visit Hyperhidrosis UK for more information on available treatments.”

Perspirex is very good. It can sting if not used correctly but it does what it says on the tin.

Laburnam · 27/08/2021 13:30

Perspirex is excellent

GoodnightGrandma · 28/08/2021 08:33

Thanks, I’ll try them both.

There's a new Mitchum Gel.

I've not tried it but heard good things

I have tried driclor years ago and it's worth a try if it's still available and you've not tried it.

GoodnightGrandma · 28/08/2021 08:59

I’ve used the Mitchum gel, it’s not strong enough now.

Back in the 90’s when we all wore ‘bodies’ , I used something in a jar that stopped you sweating for days. Looks like that’s what I need !

I remember those days!

Driclor you put on at night and wash off in the morning. Can be a bit stingy.

I think perspirex is similar.

Can also use a very thin panty liner in your armpit of your top to avoid sweat patches.

GoodnightGrandma · 28/08/2021 09:27

Thanks, might try the panty liner thing in my work tops.

Driclor anti-perspirant is amazing! Changed my life.
It's a roll-on and is quite expensive - but well worth it. You don't need to use it every day, either.

GoodnightGrandma · 28/08/2021 09:41

I’ve ordered the Driclor to come with my weekly shop.
I shower twice a day, so how often do you think I’ll need to reapply it ?

OP posts:
cherrypiepie · 28/08/2021 10:14

I'd start everyday after my last shower. Then after a week drop to every other etc

in the morning wash again with soap and then spray with sure 72 hour (green can)
