Bra and top advice needed - post breast surgery

Please accept my apologies if this is not the right place to ask.... but last time I asked for tips I got some fantastic ones- so hoping you all can help again.

I need help and quick; I'm about to have a full mastectomy with immediate reconstruction, which means a lot of swelling and drains for at least 2 weeks.

I need inspiration for front fastening sports type bras as I'll need to wear support constantly whilst they heal (but I won't be able to put things over my head or rear fastening - imagine you're dressing a t-rex) and tops that, again, are front fastening and loose for comfort and to hide the drains etc.

So any tips/links/recommendations would be great

I bought my post surgery bras from Asda . I had a single side mastectomy and found them relatively easy to get on and off. I bought oversized shirts and t-shirts to wear over the top.

I wore Macom bras post surgery. They are compression bras and fasten easily at the front: you should probably take the advice of your breast care specialist nurse or your surgeon about what type of bra to buy.
As for clothes, I bought a few vest tops from Next that I could step into rather than have to lift my arms to put on. Also a couple of stretchy jersey maxi dresses that I could step into. You could wear a cardigan with the vests or dresses: get a couple of easy fitting cardis if you don’t already have some ( Asda or Sainsbury’s would be a good bet for all these things).
Looking nice and feeling better about yourself will help your recovery: maybe get some nice new beauty things too ( natural label body lotion etc).
Wish you well.

I had bilateral breast surgery last week to remove a lump, and have been wearing crop top type soft bras night and day since. Two came from TKMaxx and two others, a bit sturdier, are Chantelle soft bras. I can step into them and pull them up. I also have a sports bra that I can manage already (arms in first, then head through, and help to hook the back closure. This is quite hefty and compressing, which is helping to contain the swelling, but my drains were removed the morning after surgery.

I hope your surgery goes well. My local bra shop and the breast care nurses were really kind and helpful with advice.

My mum had a mastectomy last year, the hospital gave her some, then she had the option to buy extra from them, they measure properly and she has kept on getting them from there. She has had others but found the hospital ones were best for her.

Does your hospital offer anything similar?

Good luck with the surgery and recovery x
