Shampoo for 7 year old

Dd has long hair, quite fine (though hoping it thickens up as her older sister has now she's a teen) but it not very smooth shiny looking and tangles easily

What shampoo/conditioner do you all use on your kids, currently just using a Tesco kids strawberry two in one but looking for something better for her hair

Did think about going back to Johnstone's baby but wonder if I should be doing more to keep her her nice

Have you looked at Childs Farm? Really gentle shampoos, conditioners and detanglers.

Miseryisabutterfly · 23/08/2021 18:25

I’ve never used shampoo on either of mine (5 & 7), I just use water and their hair is lovely. I’ve heard good things about child’s farm though, we use the bubble bath and find it very gentle on my son, who has eczema.

boobot1 · 23/08/2021 18:41

Childs farm definitely

nevernotstruggling · 23/08/2021 22:02

I don't think the shampoo matters so much but if it tangled easily you cannot beat Aussie leave in conditioner spray. It was recommended to me by other parents and they were so right. We buy it in bulk because the dds use it so much. It doesn't make the hair greasy just easy to brush and it smells lovely.

We had Johnson's and other detangler sprays before but they are rubbish in comparison! It's usually on a 3 for £10 offer in boots etc

Another vote for child’s farm.

Vosene kids 2 in 1, also has tea tree oil so is supposed to repel nits. My daughter has fine long hair and we've been using it for years as it keeps it shiny and untangled.

GuyFawkesDay · 23/08/2021 22:13

Did use the vosene but it's really long and needs proper conditioner. My 8yo now shares the Aveeno shampoo and conditioner with me.

Tresemme

100% agree @nevernotstruggling That Aussie spray is fantastic

purpleme12 · 23/08/2021 23:04

Mine is 7
I use adult shampoo and conditioner on her. Have done for years
We like vosene shampoo. Don't have a particular brand for conditioner - use whatever for that

NotMyCat · 23/08/2021 23:20

These are really nice and I've used them on myself

Faith in nature does good shampoos and conditioners, also garnier hair food (watermelon is lovely!)

minipie · 24/08/2021 00:03

Not Johnson’s! We used some recently and it dried out all our hair.

We use a normal inexpensive shampoo and conditioner like Herbal Essences or own brand and then the Aussie spray conditioner in the morning before brushing.

lazylockdowner · 28/08/2021 10:03

Thanks for all the recommendations, I brought the child's farm strawberry and mint one which is lovely and leaves her tangle free, I will also pick up some Aussie leave in conditioner as they will be handy for the mornings
