I decided to have my hair cut as the ends were quite thin. Have I ruined it?

No, it looks good, although I don't see a problem with the first pic.
I do like the darker colour best.

crapcrap · 23/08/2021 12:49

I think it looks lovely!

thedevilinablackdress · 23/08/2021 12:50

It's just a tiny bit shorter (and lighter?).

kickingmyself123 · 23/08/2021 13:00

Thanks everyone. Yes she cut about 5 inches off I could say and put some blonde through the ends. I think I'm going to stick with darker to get it into better condition to grow again though x

It looks like some parts of your hair just naturally don't grow beyond a certain length. Have you tried bringing it all up to that length?

kickingmyself123 · 23/08/2021 13:06

@dudsville do you mean the front? That because that is what was my fringe so it's still shorter than the rest. I'm tempted to have it put back in but my hair is so much thinner than it was when I had a fringe so I worry it'll just look pathetic x

I can't see anything ruined OP. I think the colour is nice and looks fresher, there's nothing wrong with your hair. If anything I'd have taken a bit more off the ends, and done a long bob. The gradient and the variance between the shortest points at the front and the lengths, does highlight the lack of volume.

Have you tried putting a curl in from the midpoint down and brushing through? That would give it some volume vs wearing it poker straight. Flip the parting into a side parting for extra volume etc.

If you're concerned about the condition of your hair- try olaplex. I know it's a little pricey but it works wonders!
The shampoo and conditioner are amazing. You don't need much either so it should last!

Do you know why your hair is thinning? There's usually a reason. Mine is usually thick but loads and loads fell out when heavy periods left me anaemic.

I think your hair looks gorgeous. If you want to thicken it, try some Hair, Skin & Nails vitamins. I take the gummy ones off Amazon, but the StarPower ones from Holland & Barrett made me feel AMAZING. (But they're £££££.)

I'm taking cheaper ones off Amazon, along with collagen, and my hair and nails are growing faster than ever.

stripedbananas · 23/08/2021 16:03

Why did you put blonde on the ends. It just looks like blonde dye you're trying to grow out Confused

It looks much nicer, healthier and glossier left as brown.

Claricestarling1 · 23/08/2021 17:50

Oh I love the colour now!! And the cut..it’s looks lovely!! Hair envy!!

Notavegan · 23/08/2021 17:53

It would look nice to the length of your growing out fringe if you fancy a change next time.

@AlbertBridge it shed postpartum then seemed to stop got about a year then started again worse. It started up after a period of stress (and not eating) and my iron levels were low and never really got better, and are low again now I'm pregnant. I might have to have an iron infusion before I give birth. Are the Holland and Barrett ones good? I was looking at taking hairburst once the baby is born but they have mixed reviews!

Yes, the H&B StarPower hair vitamins are wonderful. But if you're low on iron, I'd probably recommend the Florisene hair supplement more. It's got loads of iron in it, and it's designed for anaemic hair loss. I used it before and it was effective.
