Brown to blonde hair in one day...?

I really want to go blonde, but because of my job, I can't have yellow/bright orange hair during the transition phase (ginger would be fine but not the unnatural orange look). My hair is natural in the pic, no dye in it. The blonde one is the one I want to go. My hairdresser has booked me in for a six hour slot next week, she said it might not take that long and that she's confident that she can do it in that time (maximum). Patch test went fine. Am I going to damage my hair, or should it be okay? It's just been cut and as I said, no dye/henna in it. TIA.

It'll damage it a bit, bleach always does. But not damage as in... ruin. It'll just dry it out a bit.

And no, it doesn't look completely unfeasible. I'm sure if she said she can achieve that then she can probably get at least quite close.

Your hair on the picture looks quite light? And if it is and you have no colour on it then theres a good chance your hairdresser could achieve this or close to this in one sitting. Your hairdresser should use a toner after to take out any brassiness in your hair and you can also keep the brassy tones out by using a purple shampoo at home. Bleach does damage hair and dry it out but make sure you have a good hair mask to use to help with dryness, not too much heat will help aswell. Good luck.

I have much darker hair than you and I went almost platinum blonde in one session.

I got it done from red-brown to my natural blonde in one day.

My hair is extremely well behaved and I suffered some damage. Not too bad though.

I went from black to blonde in 2 sittings and even after the first round it wasnt a horrible blonde it was light just not as light as I wanted but with the right toner I'm sure it will be fine. Just ask your hairdresser if she thinks it will go as light as you want it in 1 sitting. Since you haven't coloured your hair I'm guessing it is in quite good condition so that will be a bonus. It will be dry after so use some hair masks and enjoy your new hair.

I went from dyed dark brown to blonde via a bronde balayage. It took maybe three or four sessions before I went as light as I wanted to get. Absolutely no orange in-between stage, the only person I know who had that had dyed black hair and bleached it dramatically in one go. If you're worried about damage/it looking unprofessional why not do it in stages rather than aim to go very light in one session? My hairdresser managed my expectations and advised that. But if your hairdresser is confident it'll work then you're probably fine.

Yes, it was, @lemonied :)

The process to going blonde doesn't need to mean having yellow or orange hair in the interim. I went gradually blonde by having bayalage (or whatever it's called!) first and each time she just added more and went higher, had a toner each time, gave a great depth of colour. Each time looked great, wasn't even really meaning to end up fully blonde!
