Botox/similar: is recovery time needed?

I’m looking to get some of this stuff in my forehead as lockdown has not been kind to my wrinkles.

Is there any damage/recovery needed afterwards, or will I be good (and wrinkle free) to party for my birthday a week later? 😃

Takes two weeks to kick in but there's no down time!

I have regularly for a medical condition that unfortunately isn't anywhere near my frown lines and there's no recovery time as such. I've been told not to take it easy and no alcohol for the rest of the day/evening.

Shit! should read: Been told to take it easy

The only thing to consider is you’re advised to stay upright (sitting or standing) for at least 4 hours afterwards so if you’ve small children you’re constantly bending down to or something you might want to factor that in. Or like me that had a late appointment and then had to wait to go to bed Grin.

Definitely takes two full weeks to see the proper effect too.

Ooh, this is sounding good!

No young children, phew! And my appointment is midday. So.. looks like I can go for it!

I always have the majority of my full effect within 3-4 days with only very slight improvement after that, with no downtime needed except no heavy exercising straight after and no make up etc for 24 hrs but I ignore this one Wink

DrDresaid · 12/08/2021 19:27

No rubbing your forehead for 24hours afterwards and no gym for 24hours or is it days Grin

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 19:29

This is all very positive! I’d always said I’d never do it, but am in my fifties, and the last year has played havoc with my erstwhile relatively youthful looks. My chubby face has served me well wrinkle wise, until now.

😂 I do actually go to the gym, to deal with aforesaid chub, and ageing
