Has anyone used this? Would you recommend?

I’ve been thinking about starting to use retinol for a while and then I saw this being advertised and as it’s a plant based alternative to traditional retinol I thought it might be good.

Just wondering if anyone else has used it and would recommend for a beginner?

Retinol is derived from vitamin a so it's about as 'natural' as phyto retinol, which isn't a retinol at all but a peptide (which are usually synthesized). They are also the absolute wild card of the skincare world in regard to efficacy with none of the research behind it the way that retinol does. If you want the results from retinol, go for a recognised retinoid and stay clear of the pseudo retinol marketing that sells things like peptides and bakuchiol as natural alternatives when they are completely different things.

Oh wow thank you for your reply. I just thought it might be a little more gentle on the skin but get your point. I’ll avoid.

Take a look at the Medik8 Crystal Retinal. It comes in various strengths so you can build up your tolerance slowly overtime.
It is a really lovely texture, I've found many others to be too sticky or oily.

Yes the Crystal Retinal is good. Medik8 R-Retinoate is also excellent, especially for sensitive skin but £££ so would only recommend if you're very sensitive. A good allround starter retinol that doesn't cost the earth is the Indeed Labs Retinol reface.
