Super waterproof lightweight rain jacket

I've spent hours online searching for the perfect lightweight waterproof jacket and just got more confused than ever.
I'm hoping MN experience will guide me in a more precise direction.

What I'd love is to find a short super waterproof jacket, lightweight, with a concealed hood (so if it doesn't rain I can tuck it away - this is important).

The type that wouldn't make me hot in warmer weather when it's bucketing down with rain and I'm wearing a vest top underneath. None of my existing waterproof coats do this despite claims to the contrary. So breathable with optional under arm zips I think.

It needs to have waterproof pockets too (the more, the better).

And to be reasonably fitted and comfortable.

It's mainly for dog walking.

Budget up to £150 but the lower the better.

Shortlisted Patagonia and Jack Wolfskin but not available in black or I'm wavering on cost still. (not a fan of North Face and the like). But it doesn't have to be a well known brand as long as it does the job I don't care who makes it. Happy with Tesco if it ticks all the boxes.

There might be some online good Scandinavian shops and they'd have just the thing but I don't know where to look and am aware there might be an import charge if ordering this way.

Maybe I'm asking too much but I'm fed up of making do with my existing rain jackets they're either not waterproof enough or I get really hot wearing them.

What's up with North Face? Do you mean you don't want an outdoor brand?

There are lots of lightweight waterproofs but the more expensive/breathable ones don't tend to have the foldaway hoods, they sometimes roll down with a strap though.

Does it have to be black?

Slightly over budget but I splashed out on the longer version after recommendations on here and it’s fantastic.

I have the Noor and it's brilliant! I couldn't decide between that one and the Stratus but went for the slightly longer line. It's really soft, breathable and un-sweaty. Also look elsewhere for Didriksons waterproofs as there are deals around.

Not keen on North Face because everyone wears this brand and I don't favour obvious recognisable logos. It's not that it isn't a serious brand, but I'm more appreciative of something like Paramo or Patagonia, that sort of outdoor gear.

That's the thing about the hoods - you are so right, mostly in one piece and visible even when not in use.

Yes black all the way nowadays for all my walking clothes. I did a major overhaul and wardrobe streamlining project trying to keep everything simple 😊

Thank you. I looked at this brand in the past as it looks very practical and a friend has one of their coats and wouldn't wear anything else. The hoods always made me stay away as most don't appear to fold away. Also the fit is quite loose (which is a good idea for freedom of movement and extra layers in colder weather) but a slightly more fitted look works better for my shape so it has to either skim the hips or have more of a fitted waist or something that doesn't drown me. That's the trouble with looking for this magic coat for so long, it's got more and more demanding by the month/year.

Thank you for all your replies and sharing your knowledge.

I can't believe how quickly I found the coat with MN's help.
