Hair colour help!

I finally decided to get a full head of colour to hide the greys at the hair dressers.

Except it's come out really pinky red brown! I agreed to some warmth but my idea of "warmth" was not this. It's especially so at the roots.

If I go back in 6 weeks can they change the full colour easily?

Wondering whether to try a cooler semi permanent one at home for a while.

Did you tell them at the time you were unhappy?

yellowpostitnote · 10/08/2021 14:33

No. I'm an idiot. Wasn't sure what to say.

I actually hate going to the hair dressers. I am able to cut my own hair and have been doing so.

Can you upload a picture?
Why would you wait 6 weeks for it to be fixed? Give them a call today

yellowpostitnote · 10/08/2021 14:39

I feel embarrassed asking them to fix it and I have no idea what they can do? Im a novice to hair colour! I'm not sure about a photo as it's outing.

Around my hair line it's especially more red/pink for some reason. Possibly the greys tbh.

I'm surprised it's so much lighter at the roots as they're usually darker in pictures. I've only a few greys.

It hasn't helped that my kids are eyeing me with suspicion...

They haven’t done a great job, regardless of the colour being unexpected. They haven’t processed it properly to avoid the difference in roots/length. You’ll need to call them, they should fix it.

yellowpostitnote · 10/08/2021 15:24

I feel awful calling them though. I've never understood the world of hair dressers and always feel it's me not understanding what they are saying.

But I feel it looks a bit weird, like a home job.

But what on Earth could they do? It's permanent.

I feel like going somewhere else and notching it up to a learning experience.

I've spent years avoiding hair dressers so haven't spent much money in them!

Did they apply it all at once?

Your roots needed longer processing time by the looks of it.

If you else where they can correct it, might be half a shade darker etc but it's deffo correctable

yellowpostitnote · 10/08/2021 15:32

She did the front and roots first. But I think that it's too light and red so the greys are aubergine. Ironically my ends go naturally that colour but I think it's wrong for the roots. And it looks patchy.

She was so, so, lovely I feel unable to complain.

Thanks for advice all. Pms isn't helping! And the look on my 7 year old's face...

Give it a couple of weeks, it will soon fade.

RevolvingPivot · 10/08/2021 15:45

I think it looks fine from the photos

yellowpostitnote · 10/08/2021 15:49

I can't get the picture to look as it does in real life. this is particularly pinky aubergine.

I'll see how it goes for a week or so.

Fgs, the toddler has actually just laughed at my hair!

Mr 7 still insisting it's pink 🤷🏻‍♀️

Take another pic

RevolvingPivot · 10/08/2021 16:14

I've had pink hair before though so that wouldn't bother me but on this pic it looks natural brown. To me anyway.
