Best conditioner for tangled hair below £5

My teenaged DD likes to use lots of conditioner due to long, fine hair that's damaged and tangles easily. We have had to cut back and can't afford usual brands. What conditioner can she slather on her hair that won't cost too much? Are supermarkets own any good? Or false economy? TIA

Garnier Hair Food hair mask. Banana one. It's only £3.40 on Amazon and I use it on mine and DDs mega knotty hair. Little bit goes a long way with it.

The best detangler I've found is the one I use for my children. Johnson's detangling spray which you use in the shower/bath on wet hair, so just like using conditioner. It's a couple of pounds. Much much better than the L'Oréal one.

And it lasts forever.

My dd uses L’Oréal dream lengths, it’s brilliant for her tangly hair, and £2.50ish on Amazon if you get it on subscribe and save. Often on offer in Tesco too.

You don't need conditioner to detangle hair, you need to brush it to do that.

Reading between the lines here, it sounds like her hair is probably curly and you need to find a way of managing her curly hair. Mainly, let it curl and put some product on it.

Yes to the Garnier ones. They’re very good and reasonably priced. The coconut and macadamia nut conditioner is about £2. The masques are pricier but £3.46 at Superdrug at the moment.

If her hair is really damaged, she might need something like Philip Kingsley elasticizer or Olaplex (but less pricey) rather than just conditioner. I haven’t used it but this has good reviews and is down to £5.33

Her hair is straight, not curly. Fine, straight but lots of it and long.

My younger daughter has really straight hair that tangles when you look at it. I saw Brazilian keratin recommended on here (from Amazon, orange box, about £5) and we run it through after washing and conditioning when towel dried, it makes her hair really silky. We also use olaplex 3 fortnightly but the keratin is the miracle worker.
