Comfy funky (ish) trainers for someone with feet like boats...

...that don't cost as much as an actual chuffing superyacht!

Does anyone have any ideas please?

I am a women's UK size 9 (ie EU 42) and have been looking for literally months for a pair of nice trainers for outdoor use. I'm active but not an athlete so would use them for walking, running about in the park playing football with the kids, maybe even a run or two if I had a burning urge. They don't need bluetooth chips in them or anything like that or the more dramatic sounding sciency stuff but ideally cushioned and comfortable. Don't mind if they're waterproof but not bothered either way.

I just want them to look a bit feminine. Because my feet are so big and I am of a certain age I have spent my life being told 'these don't come in your size, why don't you buy boy's/men's shoes instead?' and I HATE it. So I'd like a funky colour or print - ideally purple, teal, darker blues possible but preferably not pink.

Budget no more than £75 (and ideally less than that!).

Fell in love with these Under Armour Hovrs in the sale but they've arrived and my toe basically pokes through the left foot despite me being assured that their 8.5 was equivalent to a 42

Sick of going into shops and being looked at like I'm Hagrid before being told they don't have anything in my size so looking to order online if possible.

Does anyone have any ideas please? I feel like there must be a market for this and I'm just not tapped into the right (running?) community to find it.

This is a good chart.

Morning.
I feel your pain - I'm a 9 / 43. I have about 30 pairs of converse in every colour, but they're not really supportive. Try fitflop - they do lovely ones in my size - I'm currently wearing purple knit ones from there. I used to go to longtallsally too as they do great footwear in bigger sizes, but they've changed hands recently so I haven't tried them. My walking trainers are Adidas, but they're just black. Uggs also do Trainers in 9. All my recommendations have websites you can filter by size (so you don't fall in love and find they only go up to size 7).

Women’s size, my Mastermind specialist subject. I’m a size 43, which i have always considered to be a size 9. Have been since I was 12, which is more than 30 years ago. There is basically very little point in trying to buy women’s 9s in actual shops.

I do appreciate that there is confusion/inconsistency with an 8/9, 41/42/43, and I think this comes from 42 sitting between 2 Imperial sizes, rounding down for women, rounding up for men, inconsistency in manufacturing sizes (you know, like with clothes you can be different sizes in different shops), and manufacturers basically not wanting to make a women’s 9.

For actual running I wear Brooks, who go up to a uK 10 in women’s shoes.
For taking the kids to the park etc I wear retro style New Balance 515 or 574 styles which I get from Amazon and M&M Direct at various prices and colours, but never more than £50. Colours are limited above a 6 or 7 though.
When it’s banging down with rain I wear Muck Boots in an 8, they are huge!)

I find Nike does a lot of unisex trainers. I wear size 8, which incidentally I think is a normal shoe size Grin (not boat like at all)

I have Asics size 8, men and women’s shoes too

OP, I sometimes put coloured laces in men’s shoes to feminise them a bit.
