Why do I always have spots?

This is something I've just realised really, which is bad when I look at my face every day! I have quite red cheeks, although that's faded a little bit in the last few years. I always seem to have spotty skin, but it feels like the kind of spots that are under my skin if that makes sense. My skin never really feels 'clear'. I've just started a skincare regime which has made my skin feel much nicer - double cleanse, vit c serum, moisturiser with spf etc., but these spots just won't go away! Is it as simple as just diet? I have dry skin so don't think I can use anything acidy or too strong, is that right? What can I try?!

That looks quite like rosacea to me. If it is your GP can help.

I have similar and was diagnosed with rosacea.

It was really getting me down as had beautiful skin til I was 38 and this happened... I found it very sore and puffy which was miserable.

I've got soolantra from gp and (fingers crossed!) it's really helping. I'd recommend you get a proper diagnosis as skincare regimes only help so much. Best of luck xx

It may be a skin condition, rather than spots. However the three biggest things that affect skin are sleep, diet and hydration. Products are pretty pointless if those are not right.

It looks like Rosacea to me too. I used Soolantra and it cleared mine fantastically, I would definitely recommend it

I’m pretty sure that’s rosacea. lots of treatments available x

Ah okay, thanks! I thought it wasn't that as the redness was fading! I'll see if I can get onto the doctor then.

Don't bother with the dr. Get on dermatica or skin and me.

Google azelaic acid and soolantra

WindFlower92 · 06/08/2021 04:28

Although a quick Google tells me soolantra shouldn't be taken while breastfeeding, so maybe I'll have to wait!

Duac is good for spots, but you have to get it from the GP

Another vote for soolantra. It looks exactly like mine did and it's now, while not perfect, much much better - definitely ask your Gp for a prescription.

Azelaic acid is safe in pregnancy and breastfeed
