Low cut white leather trainers?

ramarama · 29/07/2021 21:00

Can anyone recommend some grown up looking white trainers?

I have stan smiths, vejas etc but none seems particularly flattering on me. I have short legs and something even just a little more low cut generally feels a lot better (think vans rather than converse)

I heard Me&Em were designed to be ankle/leg flattering, but are £200 and they don't come in plain white. Anyone got them?

Any other recommendations welcome

Lacoste Ziane? They do them in canvas or in leather

Procrastatron · 30/07/2021 09:54

I find that Superga flatter my sturdy ankles the best.

Cherryana · 30/07/2021 15:39

I second Lacoste Ziane. I have them on right now and they help me because I am slightly chunky of ankle and I wear them with dresses.

thanks all, but neither is really what i'm after.

I have Supergas - they tend to make my wide feet look wider, and i need something a bit thicker of sole

the Lacoste ones are too dainty for my hefty frame - though i do see how they would flatter the leg

basically im after something like this - but cheaper! www.meandem.com/leather-trainer-white-navy

Adidas Gazelle?

Cherryana · 30/07/2021 18:43

Do you know what, in this situation, if the Me and Em one is the one - I would just go for that. Cost per wear will in the end make them worthwhile. You will compare everything else and they will always fall short.

ramarama · 30/07/2021 18:52

@Cherryana yes, you may be right.......

@Blossomtoes I had seen these recently. they are pretty close to styles I like (although I have wide feet, so am worried about pinched toes)
Sold out on Amazon in my size so will do some sleuthing.

Thanks!

I have the Me&Em ones and they are great. They are the most flattering of my other trainers (I have a bit of a collection). I bought the white leather with khaki side stripe and they go with everything. They are v comfy and after wearing loads (I bought them about a year ago) they still looking good.

ramarama · 30/07/2021 18:57

@JeSuisPrest Gazelles should work - yet somehow always feel too long and narrow for me (I have some)

(I'm aware i am the fussiest person in the world - but this is S&B after all!)

I have some French Connection ones that might fit the bill but they were last years.
They might have something similar this year though

Yes, this always happens to me when I try to buy an alternative to what I really want! Usually I end up buying two or three alternatives and still wish I'd got the original I wanted. Blush

These? They’re similar style to what you’re after and vegan materials rather than animal leather.

Celtic & Co have some I thought looked promising new to their range, and like you, I prefer a slightly lower front on trainers. And significantly less ££ than Me&Em.

TheLivingAnt · 31/07/2021 17:32

Mint Velvet do similar to those me + em ones.

ramarama · 01/08/2021 17:39

Thanks all! will take a look
