Bravissimo- do they measure you or fit by eye?

I'm sick of ill fitting bras despite doing BOB they are so in inconsistent between high street stores that is impossible to find a well fitting bra- i'm BOB size 34F or 36E. Even two 36E from same store same style were different lengths when measured flat!

So decided to go to bravissimo in the hope of an amazing bra!

Just wondering how they do a bra fit and what I should hope for?

Oh and how. How many bras do you have/do I need?

They've always done me by eye.

How many bras really depends on how often you wash them.

Lizzie523 · 28/07/2021 22:45

I was measured usually but since the pandemic they do it by eye.

By eye in my experience. They tend to start with the bra you are wearing. Most people will need to go up in the cup and down in the back but if you have done your own BOB measurement start by telling them that and it will give you a good starting point. They can also advise on the best styles for the shape of your breasts - e.g. balconette or full cup for a teardrop shaped breast.

By eye but based on current bra you wear to fitting or your estimate of what size you are
I have 2-3 bras in each of black, white and nude
Once I find a good fit I buy others or if expensive look for same style on eBay
I’ve had some very good bras from bravissimo but for budget choices Asda have a good range of bigger cup sizes
I was a 34G but due to lockdown weight gain am currently more comfortable in a 36G

Thanks everyone.

My main issue is the wires at the central gore can someday dig in time, so previously stuck to plunge styles, but prefer the shape from non plunge one.

I'm currently wearing a 34F from Matalan -plain t shirt style. It's comfy abs give a nice shape but a bit gappy ate the top and obviously cheaply made!

By eye, but they seem to want to put you in the smallest band size possible.

Mmr224 · 29/07/2021 17:10

By eye, I'm normally 36JJ from Bravissimo, have had a lot of good bras from there. They recommend a style that will fit best, definitely made a difference to.my shape, I looked 2 dress sizes smaller in their bras. And was wearing a 36 not a 44 band.

SirenSays · 29/07/2021 17:13

They always measure me by eye, never with a tape measure. Are your breasts very close set? Mine are, so the bones often dig and the centre never sits flush against my skin if I'm not wearing a very deep plunge. During my last fitting in Bravissimo I mentioned this and was told they had nothing in store that would fit properly because of this, so if you have a similar body type you may struggle too.

cherrypiepie · 29/07/2021 17:20

@SirenSays I think they must be As most normal bras but the Matalan one dig in. But plung not supportive enough now.

Also think maybe wide root and I think I need a bigger cup size for the wire than i need for the volume. Hence the gapping.

A redoubtable lady cast an expert eye over my norks before declaring me to be 3 cup sizes bigger than I’d been wearing and sizing my back band down by about 4 inches. I had to go and have a lie down after - partly at the idea of being an FF cup (had no idea it was a thing) and partly at finally wearing a bra that fitted me.

BeautifulBirds · 06/08/2021 22:21

By eye. Sold me some amazing bras that feel fine on in the shop, until I actually had to spend 10+ hours a day in, then I realised how uncomfortable and tight they were. They practically bruised me. There's 150 quid down the pan.

Divebar2021 · 07/08/2021 00:06

I think Bravissimo do measure quite tight to begin with but they do ease after a few wears - if you start too loose you don’t get the same lift. I can remember going to Bravissimo for the first time in a D cup and being assessed as an F cup. It was pretty amazing the transformation it made to my overall look.. I looked so much slimmer because more waist was on show. I have quite a collection now but I started with non padded Freya T shirt bras ( no lace) in nude & black and worked up from there. I think probably 4 bras as a minimum but I appreciate they’re not cheap.

Divebar2021 · 07/08/2021 00:07

They assess you by eye - no tape measures ever.
