Sorry if there's a better place to ask this. I'm looking for a pair of period pants to deal with heavy flow. How have others found them? Any you'd particularly recommend?Smile

Modi bodi here too. I've had them about 6months and no issues. They are a godsend when you aren't quite sure when your period will start too.

Have hellish periods and Modibodi have never let me down. Quite an investment though... but worth every penny

Thanks for the feedback. I know I jumped on the thread to ask for opinions and I appreciate comments, and apologise to OP. I think I am going to get a pair of modi bodi for myself to test out a bit before DD starts her periods.

If you’re going for Modibodi I’d recommend not getting the recycled material ones - they’re a very odd fabric.

I don’t have very heavy flow but I keep the same pair on all day and change for night. You’re not sitting in your blood as it’s wicked away from you and there’s no smell. When you’re done, you rinse them (don’t soak - that affects the absorbency apparently) and chuck them in the washing machine.

I love the modibodi ones - by far the best period protection I’ve had and I’ve been having periods for 31 years!

I’ve got the M&S ones and I love them. They’re so comfortable. They’re the only ones I’ve tried so I can’t compare them to other brands.

They’re extremely absorbent so it’s not like wearing a damp pad all day. I haven’t experienced a smell with them. They’re also excellent for overnight.

Modibodi are expensive, and I found them incredibly uncomfortable too. I'm a high street 10-12 so ordered a "medium" and they cut in at my thighs and belly. They held back the flow but they were so uncomfortable to wear I ended up snipping the seams to continue to be able to wear them as they are very expensive! Ended up giving up on them.

I had the same experience with Wuka. Not comfortable at all!

Cheeky Wipes are much better imo, for comfort and price. I bulk bought a load of them when they had one of their 25% discounts going on, which is often. The name of the company is annoying but I can look past that Grin

Have a few primark ones for the lighter days/wearing with mooncup and they are the most comfortable out of all of them

My recommendation would be to try one pair from a less spendy brand before buying more than one pair!

None of them cope with a heavy flow on their own. You would have to change knickers during th day which I find more of a faff than just using san pro. They are good safety nets.
They also are brilliant if you’re not regular and day 1 likes to appear in it’s own time.

@LittleWingSoul I wonder if it's down to shape.

My Dd finds that the cheeky wipes she has leak and much prefers the modibodi ones. She only wears the cheeky wipes in the run up to having a period in case it appears when she isn't ready.

@MrsPear my DD puts a pad on in the morning, will then just remove that at school and then continue with only pants so although she has the pants on she doesn't have a full days blood if that makes sense!

The swim bikini bottoms are good too as she doesn't want to use tampons so that's meant she's not missed out this summer.
