Please help! Swimsuit with tummy control AND big boobs?!

Hello wise parents,

I have always struggled with swimming, due to self confidence issues even before becoming a mum, but I want to bite the bullet and get over it now. I want to take my 16 month old for swimming lessons!

I'm a size 14 with large boobs, FF/G. They're not as perky as they were so I really don't want anything low cut at all.

I also have a 'mum tum' that I would like to try to control a bit if possible. It's excess skin that generally hangs over my underwear unless I wear midis to suck it up into.

Everything I've found when googling that has the supposed best tummy control just is not made for large boobs, they have tiny cups, or they're low really low cut.

I am so nervous finding a costume, i hate my body so much, but I just want to fikd something so I can get over it now, push through and take my little one swimming. It'll be the first time I have been swimming myself in 16 years, since I was a child!

Does what I'm looking for exist?!

Thank you so much in advance for all suggestions.

Could have wrote this myself, joined a new gym with swimming facilities to have something to to with teen DD.

Starting to regret as I cannot find suitable swimwear.

Sorry no help whatsoever, hopefully someone will be along with some fab suggestions.

This from Sainsbury’s surprisingly!! It doesn’t say tummy control, but it does provide a reasonable amount of it. I am a size 14/16 34F, and the size 16 is a bit big on me. For £14, you have nothing to lose! I swim several times a week. I bought it as a spare, but now it is my “go to” costume of choice.

I got a figleaves one from sports direct, it’s not sold as tummy control but it’s a flattering pattern and feels secure on (only tried on, not tried swimming yet though!) www.sportsdirect.com/figleaves-paradise-swimsuit-354010#colcode=35401003

I've just got a leopard print, tummy control tankini top and matching high waist bottoms from Matalan. They're in the sale so probably aren't going to be around much longer. They do a tummy control swimsuit too.
It has adjustable straps and a criss cross of material under the boobs.
Mine looked magnificent today Grin

For taking a little one swimming, I can't recommend the Slazenger boyleg costume enough - its high cut on the neck and sides so nothing can escape, the low leg means you are covered, and its as cheap as chips. I'm an FF cup and everything stays in place. You can really swim in it too - in fact its the costume of choice in lane swimming at the pool I go to as you are never feeling uncovered in it. Its not a tummy control costume, but it is lined so smooths everything out

Puffinhead · 26/07/2021 17:39

I bought a tankini and skort from Lands End. The tankini is underwire and offers great support while sucking everything in! I like the skort too as i feel less exposed.

tummy control skort

tankini

I find the M&S sports section (it’s called good move or something) NOT the beachwear ones very good for that body shape. Very chlorine resistant too.

Braviss,o do swimwear. I witless lick a costume over a tanking so you can focus on the baby & not worry about the top riding up

Bananaman123 · 26/07/2021 22:30

have you tried Yours? I bought a swimming suit from there and it was a bit low for a water park so I put a little black crop top over it

Eleoura · 26/07/2021 22:33

I'm a size 16 with G boobs. I know its tricky to find something supportive and covers the boobs! I have this set from last year. Surprisingly supportive in the boobs and also slimming on the stomach. I have the bikini bottoms, not the control ones, but I imagine they are even more supportive. When on, it looks like a one piece, but having separate bottoms is SO much easier to get on/off and use the loo! I'd never get a one piece again.

If you are feeling flush, Deakin and Blue cater for big and small cup sizes and are very flattering.

FourTeaFallOut · 27/07/2021 08:58

Second figleaves but I think the ones with stated tummy control design is best. Tummy control and ample norkage. Perfect.

Robinkitty · 27/07/2021 08:59

I just wear a supportive bikini top under my swimming costume, I’m currently wearing a v neck halter swimming costume from Boden which is very flattering on the belly but I pop on a string top bikini underneath to control the boobs. Makes me feel much more secure.

FourTeaFallOut · 27/07/2021 09:01

Oh, and I have been up and down the scales like your average z list celeb with a healthy exercise video income stream these last few years and it has been very forgiving.

Regularchoice · 27/07/2021 09:03

Another vote for fig leaves

Mine came from M&S (see above) and it’s great. I got a size up - I’m between 14 and 16 and got an 18 and it’s perfect for my tummy and 38 E boobs.

I have a Panache Anya Balconnet. It is fantastic. I wear a 30JJ and it fits and supports really well. I hadn't realised it would also have a fairly good figure holding in effect but I am pleased that it does. Above all, it's really comfortable and I find I can forget all about it when swimming or in the paddling pool with the children. Bikinis and tankinis had me constantly tucking stray bits of me back inside the cloth and pulling stray bits of cloth back out of me Blush.

It's not a cheap option but has lasted really well since I bought it in 2018 (It seems still to be available in a different colour). We were swimming weekly until lockdown plus occasionally since pools reopened and it's not gone saggy, bobbly or discoloured at all.

HasselbackForLife · 02/08/2021 01:37

Bravissimo is your friend. They've got exactly what you need

Maria53 · 02/08/2021 01:58

Yes bravissimo. I feel exactly like you as a GG with tummy and felt a million dollars in my new costume. Very flattering!

RaspberryThief · 02/08/2021 07:12

Definitely go to Bravissimo and see if they can help. I loved the Panache Anya that a PP mentioned, but it dug in painfully when I tried to move about in it. It would definitely be worth a shot though to see if it works for you - large cup sizes and very flattering! Failing that, I ended up with the next best I could find: the Bravissimo Prague (still available in their sale). It's supportive, comfortable and also very flattering. I also have a Panache sports swimsuit in my back/cup size which is aggressively practical but holds everything in place. I would personally start by finding swimsuits that work for your cup size and decide from there - you might be surprised how flattering and supportive a lot of them are, whether or not they're specifically called "tummy control" suits.
