Is there anything good in Next

I am heading to a Next tomorrow and will be the only place to have a peek before I head off on holiday. I don't atually need anything and am absolutly not normally a next person. I like a funky indie chick look and always thought Next was a bit old fashioned. Is there anything I need to look at while I am in there? Just had a quick look online and nothing stood out.

I only shop in next when I'm a bit fat as there sizing is ginormous and makes me feel better.

I never actually look In The shop only go in to pick up my orders, there is so much more to order on Next online free delivery to the shop. They don’t just sell there own stuff online but lots of other makes as well.

I have half a dozen colours of those cap sleeved t-shirts too; there's a mango one I especially like. I have a couple of denim skirts from there, one blue one black, but until I bought those a few months ago, I hadn't been in Next for myself for years (I buy pants and socks for DS there). Try as I might, I can't find anything else. Next is not recognisably Next anymore.

I have a Next beside my Tesco and keep a regular eye, a lot is dreadful but have got some lovely stuff there at times also, particularly summer stuff - dresses, handy linen trousers and white and broderie tops and tshirts. I also remember when it was so much better, I worked there as a student.

Agree re Primark - any of the clothes I've bought (including for children) have lasted well. I've received Primark hand-me-downs for my daughter - she's worn them and they're still in great condition to pass on to cousins. I have tops, cardigans, PJ shorts and a jacket that I'm still wearing a few years on from purchase.

Primark's kids' stuff actually washes and lasts really well. I bought a sweatshirt with embroidery and sequins for DD1 (then about 1) not expecting much - she wore it loads, then passed it on to very messy DD3 and it still looks great. I've bought more from there on the strength of that one and found the same.

Lol I wouldn't go near anything from Primark. Neither new or second hand. Cheap crap literally designed to be worn a few times & thrown out.
I've got loads of stuff from Primark that's lasted years and still going strong including a fake fur cream jacket several blouses, a decent swimsuit and gym wear. I've got a few sets of PJ's I like and are wearing well.

I get jeans from Next as I need a 34" leg and there is always a good choice. I also buy their Forever Comfort shoes and boots as I now have old lady feet, otherwise the clothes seem mainly market stall tat now bar the odd gem. I do use them for next day delivery every now and then for branded stuff like Seasalt.

I've liked recently
The spot black shorts - floaty, shirred waistband
Oversized t shirt - drapes nicely and long enough to tuck and I keep wearing it so bought more!
Summer sun perfume - bronze goddess dupe

Probably not. I haven't seen anything I've liked in there for about 10 years.

I hadn't bought anything from Next for years, but I was in Oxford Street looking for shorts the other week and fell in love with a long dress that was in the window. They do seem to have some nice dresses.
They used to be sooooo much better quality. I bought a sheepskin jacket in a Next sale once.

@TheFairyCaravan

These dresses are lovely.

I ordered two of these dresses, the arm holes are massive, really low cut and show off my bra band.

The white t-shirt linked above is fab though, I'm going to order it in some of the other colours.

I bought their linen summer dresses that were everywhere a few years ago (the sleeveless ones with the v front and back, with pockets) - they won't win any fashion awards but they are still going strong. I bought the black and the navy. I think there are the odd good quality item in there but generally they aren't better than Primark but are more expensive.

I tend to get basics from Next, I live in their jeans - they are the right cut, length and shape for me, and I find their vest tops to be great.

I don't really like shopping for clothes and I buy classic pieces when I do shop - for example I buy all my cashmere off ebay. Next can be a bit hit and miss for anything beyond basics.

I haven't seen anything nice in Next since I worked in an office in the 90s. I'm not sure if Ben then that the clothes were nice; they just did the job.
It baffles me how they survive

it's funny i used to buy clothes for th office in the late 90s, piled on weight and never went back.... until the end of last year. They do a lot of plus size now and I've bought a ton since then, blouses, t shirts, pj's, slippers, jeans, activewear.

Paid the £10 for shipping for a year and used it loads. Like the beauty boxes too.

I use Next for easiness.
Delivered next day, usually, to my door.
The T-shirt’s used to be great but they’re very thin now, and they get little holes in the front.

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow

I’ve just bought this dress. 100% cotton.

No nasty back holes or random fussy stuff which is what Next is often like.

Can you do a link ?
I’m looking for 100% cotton dresses.
