skin care instead of make up?

Just wondering about this. I wear very minimal make up, a brown mascara on my blonde lashes and a touch of concealer for my dark circles.

However, I occasionally use a sort of light foundation (very sparingly) or bb cream thing to even up my complexion. This is because I am very rosy/blonde and areas of my face are red/blotchy and almost translucent.
Other than this I am lucky to have really decent skin.

Is there a decent skin care range that can mitigate redness/blotchiness, unevenness? I would rather tackle it via skincare than cover it up with a foundation iyswim? I am 47 if it is relevant.

Thanks!

Do you think it's possible you might have rosacea? There are things you can do with prescriptions (I use Soolantra and it has helped loads with my skin) as well as things like niacimimide to strengthen the skin barrier, but really depends on what the issue is. There is a long running skincare thread on here that might help you (I'm far from an expert!) - I'll try and link it.

This is what I was talking about, in case it is helpful:

I had a look online, some products were really pricey, more reasonable ones are Eucerin and skin + me.

No idea about their efficacy though.

Clinique do a range which is pretty good. Doesn't park against actual rosacea though, more just general redness
