In my mind, years ago, it was a very dressed up affair, almost wedding guest standard.
I'm guessing it's a more relaxed affair these days.
Any suggestions of what would hit the spot?
I'm size 14 with a tum.

I work for a non RG Uni and dress code is smart. Suits for men, dresses and jackets for women...similar to what you'd wear for a christening or a engagement party. It's definitely an occasion and one to celebrate. For me, it's the highlight of the academic year. Many of our students are the first generation to go to Uni in their families and there is an enormous sense of pride and achievement in the room. It always makes me quite emotional.

I'd use it as an excuse to wear a really wonderful dress.
How about:
shirtwaist floral from Zara

Or another Zara shirtwaist that looks like a Samantha Sung dress twelve times the price!

Or something from Nobody's Child which works as formal wear and every day summer dress.
