Shoes for Sixth Form dress code

DD is off to a Sixth Form that has a strict business style dress code. She has a few matching jackets and trousers (tailored and ankle length) with white shirts but she (and I) are at a loss for shoes.
No trainers, no heels, no boots...and black or brown.

Ideas please!
Many thanks.

What does she like ? I work in a school (no dress code) and apart from those in trainers the rest wear DM or DM style boots or shoes. Does she like DM shoes?

Otherwise loafers or brogues ?

Would be best if the school gave some examples.

Clarks? www.clarks.co.uk/c/Orinoco-2-Loafer/p/26161665

Dr Martens or equivalent. They’ve lots of styles & are ‘in’ again.

Loafers would be ideal.
Sixth form dress codes are a bloody nightmare.

DD wears burgundy DM brogues which go with everything. A lot of her friends wear Docs - it's like 1993 all over again.

Brogues

Sheldock · 06/07/2021 21:52

She lives in 14hole DMs...but there's a 'no boots' rule.
Will look at DMs but I don't recall any business wear styles from when we looked a while ago.

Why are sixth forms doing this? Genuinely don't understand the point.

Sixth form was when I went from school uniform to sartorial "freedom".

Victoria1083 · 07/07/2021 01:06

Maybe brogues? M&S had loads online when I looked a couple of weeks ago

ChequerBoard · 07/07/2021 01:07

DD wore DM Brogues for 6th form as did list of her friends. She has just finished this year.

@StCharlotte I don't understand it. Apparently it's so they get used to dressing for a professional work environment, but why when they're not getting paid for it?
It means a lot of cost on clothes they will never wear outside school.
It's like pulling out your own toenails trying to get them to comply.
And I personally think its a veiled way of censoring particularly young women's clothes.
I don't know why they don't go all out and make them wear a bloody handmaidens outfit.
