Airwrap vs dyson dryer?

I have been toying with the idea of airwrap. However I don’t have a lot of time and have long coarse hair. Does airwrap still make sense? And is the dryer in airwrap as powerful as the standalone dyson dryer?

I have the air wrap the dryer is the most powerful I have used, I have blown up any number of normal hairdryers and was buying progressively more expensive ones, I’m not sure if it’s as powerful as the Dyson dryer though. The air wrap however does have brush attachments that makes drying my (now shoulder length) very thick hair very easy and quick, they also style the hair I would say to the same standard as I I were to blow dry properly and use straighteners. I can’t see the point in buying just the dryer personally but then I do use all of the air wrap attachments (some much more than others) so maybe it’s just me. I got lucky with a voucher for mine but if I hadn’t I would have got a refurbished one from the Dyson website

@Kjr33 thanks. How long does it take you to do your hair?

15 mins (that’s probably mostly me being fussy tbh and trying to get it perfect) I do leave mine quite a while before I start drying though so I’m probably 50-60% dry before I touch the hair dryer. One thing I’ve found with the air wrap is my style “stays” better so the next day I just need a blast of dry shampoo and it looks good to go and that was never the case before.

I have the air wrap and have some regret over not just buying the dryer as I think it’s more powerful and I only ever use the dryer part of the air wrap anyway. Have had it for a year and never found the time to use the curlers. That said it is still really good and is useful to have the brush attachment.

Airwrap for me. I have my dyson hairdryer away. I found it dried my hair out tbh. The airwrap is easier to hold and offers more variety for me.

I’ve used the air wrap and wasn’t v impressed with it (but I have very fine hair) love love love the hair dryer though.

I love my airwrap. I have really thick, curly just lower than shoulder length hair. I can go from wet to straight in 25 mins

I have both and would recommend just the dryer unless you’re pretty sure you’ll use the curling attachments. If not you’re paying more for essentially a hairbrush. They dryer is more powerful than the airwrap dryer attachment but unless you have longer, thick hair I think the difference would be fairly negligible. For example, I have collarbone length thick hair and the difference would maybe be 8mins vs 11. The dryer seems more compact to me and a little easier to wield but it is fun to have the attachments of the airwrap.
