Round face, no idea what suits me anymore! Pic included

I have a very round face, used to have my hair in a shortish bob with fringe which tbh looked dowdy plus I worried it emphasised the roundness. I've let it grow through covid and the fringe in particular is quite long now. But where to go next?? I'm not sure that no fringe suits me. Longer hair just seems to lay flat and rather lifeless. What could I do with it?? (Its fine but lots of it, goes flyaway easily, has a bit of curl in humidity...bloody nightmare!) Any ideas of how to rejuvenate my hairdo would be so appreciated! Pic is how it is currently ie longish, and side swept nose length fringe.

I’m no good at giving style advice but I was expecting a picture of a moon face and instead see a pretty, nicely shaped one

INeedANewHairDo · 29/06/2021 18:48

Moon face used to be my childhood nickname Grin Must be a flattering pic, it is round!!

I think you've a lovely square shaped face. Similar to Nina Persson from The Cardigans:

So go on a rock the eyeliner and

just mess you hair up a bit!Grin

Backthewaywecame · 29/06/2021 18:50

Try a centre parting?

Backthewaywecame · 29/06/2021 18:50

And grow the fringe down.

Cotswoldmama · 29/06/2021 18:53

I think the length looks good but I would grow out your fringe and try to add some waves or texture to give more volume.

INeedANewHairDo · 29/06/2021 18:54

Thanks! Centre parting makes me look like a serial killer for some reason, just doesn't work! How does one mess ones hair up?( Hair styling luddite here Confused)

grasstreeleaf · 29/06/2021 18:56

Luddite here too but hair mousse and a bit of scrunching can work.

texturising spray or even a bit of dry shampoo
Quickchangeartiste · 29/06/2021 18:58

Seasalt spray. Scrunch it dry, or leave it to do it itself.
Bit of bronzer to shape/ contour the face, without looking made up.

I too have a round face, these things may not change it, but make me feel better.

Bodgers · 29/06/2021 18:59

You’ve got a great shaped face! I’d say anything that’s looked good on Gemma Chan, Emma Stone or Selena Gomez will suit you - so you can go long, short, choppy, fringe/no fringe! Lots of options.

I actually think your current hairstyle suits you but just need a little boost, some curling tongs or rollers to give some volume and maybe some low lights to add texture.

Squiz81 · 29/06/2021 19:02

How about off centre parting and bluntish cut like this

You look kind and clever.

Miseryisabutterfly · 29/06/2021 22:24

Definitely play around with different partings. You have a lovely face though! I call myself basketball head, that’s what I was expecting 😂

LivingWithWeeds · 29/06/2021 22:58

Exactly the way it is, or up to 2 inches-ish longer, suits you best I reckon.

GreenWasabi · 29/06/2021 23:04

I think a chopped into fringe - not a blocky one, and your hair is in too good condition to mess up easily, so highlights for texture and interest - but not too fair ones , just lighter than your natural colour so it looks like the sun did it naturally- you've a great face btw

This is really good for giving shape and body. You blow dry the roots first, then use this for the ends.

What a lovely post. 😀 cheered up my morning.

And I agree. Lots of nice ideas here too.

You have beautiful-shaped eyes OP I'm not sure how you feel about make-up, but I'd emphasise your eyes (eyeshadow & liner)

Also you've a lovely face! Really good features, good skin.

Hair-wise, I think length is good but is emphasise the fringe to make it a more current style.

I'd continue growing that fringe down but apart from that I like it how it is. Maybe get a blunt cut to make it look more modern.

TheVampiresWife · 30/06/2021 09:09

You're so pretty, OP!

I'd definitely try a centre parting. Avoid the 'I'm a serial killer in a cult' look by adding body as PPs have suggested - I use dry shampoo on my roots (Superdrug, Boots and Batiste all do really good brunette ones to avoid the chalky finish). I also have a few layers around the mid lengths (my hair is around shoulder length).

You'll look lovely whatever you do though!

nzeire · 30/06/2021 09:16

I’ve a couple of friends with hair like yours, they’ve gone quite dirty blonde to give texture, then half ponytail.
You’re gorgeous, go a bit more glam I reckon. Ditch the Mousey Briwn!
