Has anyone tried olaplex number 8?

I use elastizer and quite like it- but it’s a bit I’d a faff. Was wondering if olaplex 8 was all hype or whether it actually worked to tame frizz and smooth hair?

Watching with interest

Also watching. I’m using 0,3 and 6 and like them.

I have it (and actually have it on my hair right now!) and like it a lot. It doesn’t leave my hair feeling super soft like some intensive conditioners do, it’s more that it feels much stronger afterwards, if that makes sense. My hair is fine and limp more than frizzy, so can’t comment how it takes frizz…but I’m pretty confident it would. All Beauty usually sells Olaplex cheaper than most places.

Yes. I don’t think much of it to be honest. I can’t get past retail Olaplex , it is very diluted and won’t do a hell of a lot to your hair.

The retail stuff was meant to be for maintaining the salon process, but the company can’t say no to the wider market and hype it up.

I’ve used Olaplex 1/2 for years, but everything else is naff and I prefer Kerastase for after treatments

Also elasticiser is heavier on the hair so will be better on frizz. Olaplex is light.

Thanks for the info- I guess I will just stick with the elastizizer. On a different note Aldi have introduced a new range of shampoos. I am trying the one for dry coloured hair- something to do with oils . I am very impressed. Thought it left a slight coating on my hair initially, but actually it makes it really soft and shiny and greatly reduces frizz without weighing it down. My hair is very bouncy and I don’t need much conditioner.🙂

@BigButtons have you tried either of the Aveda leave-in products (Damage Repair or there is an equivalent in their Botanical range)? They are great for smoothing and leaving hair feeling really nice - and super easy to use.

I haven’t tried those. Tried so many products that either don’t make much difference or leave my hair a greasy and sticky mess . Will check them out thanks.

@BigButtons you can use them as well as normal conditioner or, if you have fine hair/hair that gets weighed down easily you can basically use instead of conditioner/like a leave in conditioner. You only need a small amount and can get travel sizes so might be worth trying smaller size. There was a full size in the recent M&S summer beauty bag but don’t think that’s available any more.
