Hello,
I have had my hair done by a hair dresser, that I wouldn't have used ever, had it not been for the lack of appointment available at my usual one. I looked very tired and has uneven grey everywhere. So, I thought let me go ahead, as I was booked with her, for other stuff which she does well.
What a mistake!! It hasn't turned out well. I thought I could live with it. But the highlights ( which were supposed to be caramel brown) are gold & slowly turning to yellow 🙄.It's just been a little over a week. The hair dresser is incapable of toning it down!
I don't want to fight with her. It's not worth my while. I just want it fixed. Any idea what product to use to sort that out?
If it's not sorted, I will look like an
ompa loompa in a few days 😂😂.
Plesseeeee help Grin

As a stopgap, I would try a brunette shampoo or conditioner. Superdrug does a decent one that isn't expensive, and it's been recommended on other threads. Colour Effects

I'm not a colourist but have tried the shampoo.

The thing is, toner only temporarily covers up whatever degree of blonde or brass, or straight up orange your hair actually is underneath. In my experience, toner fades rapidly, and the gorgeous colour you're given at the salon washes away to reveal the colour your hair was actually lifted to. The only way to deal with this is to bleach it longer and lift it to a much lighter shade, or keep putting toner on, or use some kind of colour depositing shampoo. The yellow your highlights are turning is the yellow they actually are and will be until you permanently dye over them or bleach them more.

Thank you . Will look at that option 👍

Thank you 🙏 My hair was dark brown underneath. I looked better with my patchy grey than this yellow. Will give some option a try. Will return back with the hair story as it progresses 😂

Another vote for Superdrug Colour effects. I've been using it for years, usually warm brown and it looks good. Leave on 45mins to 1 hr, advised by my hairdresser. Grey looks like natural highlights and conditions well. No stain unlike recent emergency purchase of Josh Wood Glaze which left stains on the bath, much scrubbing with Pink stuff to remove. Very scary experience. Should have been suspicious as gloves came in box. Never again.
