Where can I get nice glasses frames I can try on at home?

I want to get some new glasses but hate having to try them all on in the opticians. I always feel rushed to choose something and end up disliking what I pick. Can anyone recommend somewhere reputable that sends you frames to try at home?

Sorry, posted too soon. They offer Free home trials and I’ve used them for last 5 years.

I've used glasses direct too, but my newest frames are from Bloobloom, they're lovely.

Yes, Glasses Direct are great - used them many times.

I've never got on with the try at home services, probably because I often need them to be adjusted after they are made (tiny head here).
After many years of feeling rushed, hating the choices, getting crap glasses that didn't fit from online, I discovered a really fab local independent opticians. Loads of options I like, I never feel rushed. Costs more that eg. Specsavers but quality of the frames and the service is worth it. Maybe you have a local independent worth trying?

Thank you for all the great suggestions.
We do have a couple of independent opticians nearby but I think I always assumed they would have less choice than the larger chains so never tried them. I will definitely look into it. I'd forgotten about needing the glasses adjusted hopefully that won't be an issue with getting them online as I do sometimes need them to tweak them a bit before they are completely comfortable.

I always need mine bending in to stop them sliding down my nose - you can usually take them into any opticians and they'll do it for free (and bloobloom will reimburse you if it isn't).

You can also do it yourself with a hairdryer if you go careful - I've just got mine perfect Smile

I've discovered that Specsavers have an option on their website to load a photo and try different glasses 'on'. It seems to work quite well and I wish I'd known about it sooner. I had to try and choose a pair in a shop recently with a facemask on. I've bought some I think look OK, but could be completely different when I get them home (in a week's time) and see them without the facemask. Trying them on at home or via an app would have been much better. Just keeping my fingers crossed they are OK as they weren't cheap!

Fourth bloobloom! Fantastic glasses and customer service. Even though I tried on loads when I got them I changed my mind and they happily changed them for me Blush

Lots of internet vendors let you upload a photo so you can see the style on you. That can help narrow it down before you go into a store. A good independent optician usually has someone who understands face shapes....

I found specsavers wouldn't adjust anything they hadn't sold -annoying as I have been buying from them for 15 years and only stopped as my face is small and they don't stock the same petite range, and I've been on the contact lens scheme for 10 years, so they have had a lot of money from me . Optical Express said they would over the phone. I ended up going to a local independent who adjusted for £10.

I would suggest a good independent optician. They have access to many companies & will get to know you and your style. If they do not have anything in stock you love, they will often order frames in that match your requirements.

I didn't like bloobloom I thought they were really cheap feeling and very uncomfortable (I might have just been unlucky) and you could only try a select lot of glasses.
I prefer Ace & Tate

I like some of the glasses at Ace & Tate too, but the eye test I had there was pretty shambolic - I was kept waiting for twenty minutes and then I had an email saying my appointment was cancelled fifteen minutes after it was due to start (I'd been back up and asked by then, so I did get it in the end). I know that doesn't have any bearing on the glasses but it did put me off a bit.

I thought some of the metal framed Bloobloom ones seemed a bit flimsy when I got them to try, but I haven't worn metal frames in twenty five years so I thought that was probably just me. I think I'll be getting the Ace & Tate Amy ones next.
