Help - hourglass mum-bod and work/interviews

I’ve always been an hourglass shape with big boobs. I’ve now had two babies in quick succession so my boobs are now comedy big (currently wearing 32GG) and have a bit (a lot) of a mum tum. I have about 4 months before I return to work and will likely be looking for a new job. I was previously a 10-12, now more like a 12-14.

I’ve started working out again so hopefully things won’t be as drastic as they are now but all my old clothes either make me look still pregnant or just don’t fit. I saw some photos a friend had taken when we met recently and I just wanted to cry. I look twice the size I was before. Please help me with flattering things as I currently feel like a total frump and really not myself.

12-14 isn't huge but I appreciate you feel unhappy with how you look.

You could try a skater style dress (skims over stomach) with light cardigan and flats of some sort?

This works for me and I am similarly sized. Fat Face have some decent light cotton cardigans and dresses which are suitable for work, and don't feel too hot or revealing.

Good luck!

Thanks @Kwackerly I’ll try some skater dresses.

Totally appreciate I’m not huge but I’m short (5 2” on a good day), I’ve put on over a stone, and I think it’s because it’s all accumulated on my boobs and tummy, I feel a bit matronly?

I'm an hour glass but 5'6. I was a size 12 for years, but size 16 with lockdown and a knee injury. Here are my tips for an hour glass shape:

  • I always wear a V neck. It makes the eye go up and down instead of across the boobs
  • A very long necklace can help with this also. Never a choker or very short necklace that stops right in the top of your cleavage.
  • Never get anything with added frills, patterns or pockets on the boob section.
  • Have you tried a minimiser bra before? Not for everyone, because it can give a flattened effect, but I find some tops fit better with one underneath because I don't project forward as much.
  • Spanx/suck in undergarments help to smooth the tummy
  • A well fitted jacket and pencil skirt look good on an hour glass shape and suitable for an interview
  • Some blouses (I know M&S does some) have extra, hidden buttons on the inside to stop any gape from the boobs

I recommend not buying anything til as near to it as possible... and the interviews could be online? I think v neck is most flattering, a lighter top and darker bottom. If you're feeling self conscious about your chest would a loose pretty scarf work? Main thing is to focus on feeling your best Smile

Dark plain under layer eg long skirt and top.Coloured floaty top and great shoes.
Works every time!

Bravissimo dress from eBay plus jacket/cardigan? Lots like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133792310654?hash=item1f26a4a57e:g:j-QAAOSw0zFgzJzq

@Eleoura I’ve never tried a minimiser, might be time to give one a go!

@TellmewhoIam I never thought of looking for bravissimo stuff on eBay. I like that dress and good idea not to spend too much until I work out what size I’m going to end up

@peanutbutterandbananas @sadperson16 looks like I’ll be investing in some dark staples!
